Report Reveals Multiple Guests Suffered Abdominal Pain at Universal Orlando Resort
Universal Orlando Resort has disclosed two guest medical incidents in Florida’s newest quarterly theme park injury report. Both cases are tied to rides at Universal Studios Florida.
The report, updated on October 15, 2026, covers July through September 2026. Florida’s largest theme parks operate under a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the state, which exempts them from routine government ride inspections. In return, the parks agree to self-report any serious guest injuries.

The Universal Incidents
The first incident took place on July 6, when a 61-year-old man experienced abdominal pain after riding Fast & Furious – Supercharged. The filing notes that he had a pre-existing condition. On August 29, a 24-year-old woman also reported abdominal pain, this time after riding Revenge of the Mummy.
The report does not state whether either attraction was found to be at fault. Filings of this kind frequently relate to existing health issues rather than mechanical problems.
A Closer Look at the Rides
Fast & Furious – Supercharged debuted in 2018 in the San Francisco section of Universal Studios Florida, taking over the space once occupied by Disaster!. Riders boarded a party bus that moved between large projection screens and physical sets. The attraction closed permanently in August 2026, and a new franchise ride, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, is set to take the place of the now-closed Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit.
Revenge of the Mummy, one of the park’s signature thrill rides, has operated since 2004. The indoor coaster features high-speed launches, sudden drops, a backward segment, and long stretches of darkness. It returned in 2022 following an extensive refurbishment that introduced updated scenes and effects.

How Other Parks Fared
Walt Disney World led the quarter with four reported incidents. A 25-year-old woman hurt her right leg on Humunga Kowabunga at Typhoon Lagoon on July 11. On September 1, a 42-year-old man reported dizziness and eye pain after riding Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. A 44-year-old man experienced vomiting after Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on September 23, and on September 25, a 45-year-old man suffered a seizure after exiting Pirates of the Caribbean.
SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, and Legoland Florida filed no incidents.
Last Quarter’s Reports
The new filings follow four Universal incidents reported between April and June 2026. Two involved Jurassic World VelociCoaster at Islands of Adventure, the 2021-launched coaster known for its speed and multiple inversions. A 17-year-old girl lost consciousness on the ride on May 3, while a 53-year-old man reported weakness and shortness of breath on May 25, which the report linked to a pre-existing condition.

On May 17, a 54-year-old woman experienced chest pain on TeAwa The Fearless River at Volcano Bay. On June 17, a 20-year-old woman reported weakness and lightheadedness on Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, which opened alongside Epic Universe in May 2025.
