Disney World Rumored to Remove Pirates of the Caribbean Attraction Next Year

Disney Parks fans are pre-mourning the loss of a beloved Pirates of the Caribbean experience after a recent announcement from Walt Disney World Resort. The Central Florida Disney park recently revealed that a bar themed after the iconic Adventureland ride will open in late summer 2025.
Of course, Disney Parks fans are excited about anything Pirates of the Caribbean…However, some fear the addition will take over a current interactive experience: A Pirate’s Adventure ~ Treasures of the Seven Seas. Guests can use their MagicBand or park ticket to “pick up” a magic talisman at the Crow’s Nest building, which reveals a secret treasure map complete with five special missions.
This experience is not cost–a rarity at Walt Disney World Resort! After finishing each mission, guests receive a special Pirates of the Caribbean-themed card. The reward for completing all five quests is an exclusive card signed by Captain Jack Sparrow himself!
Though not many Magic Kingdom Park guests know about this Pirates of the Caribbean experience, Disney Parks fans on Reddit recently discussed the devastating possibility that the “greatest hidden attraction” could disappear next year. It began with a post from u/prometheus_winced.
“As far as overlooked treasures go, this is a big one,” the Disney Parks fan wrote. “If you have the chance, do a couple of these with your party. You can split up and do two different ones and tell each other about your adventure.”

“These are a great time waster if you’re waiting on a Lightning Lane period,” they continued. “Each adventure takes maybe 10-15 minutes to complete. I’ve never known anyone to be aware of them – and yet once someone has tried them, I’ve never known anyone to not be delighted.”
The post received hundreds of votes of support and comments.
“One of my favorite moments on my last trip was setting off the cannon and a bunch of kids suddenly swarming me, asking how I did it and where I got the map, etc.,” u/JuniorCaptain wrote.

“This was such a fun thing to do on my trip!” u/TheOrganicMachine replied. “It’s the little things like this that make Disney so memorable.”
Some said Walt Disney World Resort didn’t give the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction a chance to succeed.
“I love that Disney has this, but it needs better signage and better hours,” said u/infrared_hologram. “A sign by Pirates with something like ‘Free Treasure Hunt This Way! ->’ would help draw in the crowds. Keeping the distribution open later would help a lot too; it closes way too early. I feel like every time I’m in the mood to do it the distribution is closed for the day.”

Still, others argued that A Pirate’s Adventure ~ Treasures of the Seven Seas isn’t going anywhere.
“That building is nowhere near big enough to be turned into a lounge,” u/5centraise wrote. “It’s barely big enough to be a walk-up drink window.”
“Unless they’re planning to make the Lounge cross the walkway, it will not be where Pirates Adventure is,” u/Stormwindadventures agreed. “Even if they did remove the current distribution spot, I have to imagine it would be easy to move since it’s basically the same size as a closet.”
Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t made any official announcements about the fate of A Pirate’s Adventure ~ Treasures of the Seven Seas. Follow Disney Dining for updates on future developments at the Central Florida Disney parks.
