New ‘Douglas Fir’ Attraction Brings Cheer and a Few Laughs to Guests at Disney Springs

Christmas time is in full swing at Walt Disney World, bringing with it a few annual experiences like the Candlelight Processional at EPCOT and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom, as well as a brand new event at Hollywood Studios, called Jollywood Nights. Surrounding Disney World’s suggested inability to coordinate and execute its inaugural version of its latest holiday party, the internet is heating up regarding a lesser-known Christmas option you may bump into at Disney Springs.

Disney Springs and Christmas Are Like Peas and Carrots

Disney Springs is a happening place. Besides its close proximity to popular Disney World Resorts like Disney’s Port Orleans and Saratoga Springs, there is a lot to see and do around Disney World’s very own shopping district.

Guests can pick up a complimentary map for the Christmas Tree Stroll at five different locations:

If you’re making your way through Galaxy’s Edge, you’d expect to see a few droids or two. If you’re in Tomorrowland, maybe you’ve bumped into a talking android once or twice. Or maybe you’ve even seen a roaming trash can!

Well, Disney Springs has a free-roaming surprise in store for guests this Christmas in the form of a roaming, moving, and speaking Douglas Fir Christmas tree.

Thanks to Attractions Magazine, who posted a short and rainy video of the roaming Christmas tree at Disney Springs to X, we got our first look at Douglas Fir, strolling the shopping district while entertaining guests.

Just outside of the LEGO store, Douglas, with his chipmunk-esque voice, can be seen playing hide and seek with guests at Disney Springs, urging them to participate in his games.

Guests were visibly delighted by the hilarious antics of Douglas as he quickly rolled out of sight after asking guests to close their eyes and count to three. Laughter can be heard all around as Douglas Fir, the talking Christmas tree, appears to be a big hit amongst Disney Springs visitors.

A Happening Holiday Season

There’s so much to do and see at Walt Disney World this Christmas season, but it’s nice to see Disney Springs get a little love with a new attraction that seems to be a hit with guests.

As Christmas remains a time of year when we all put the stresses of everyday living aside for a bit of merriment and maybe even some wassailing, Douglas is a great addition to Disney’s holiday line-up, which is already heavy and star-studded across the property.

Each location at Walt Disney World has a unique and special offering this holiday season. Animal Kingdom has its homemade decorations and creature puppets, EPCOT has the International Festival of the Holidays, Hollywood Studios has Jollywood Nights, and of course, Magic Kingdom has Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Now, Disney Springs, the premiere shopping and dining experience at Walt Disney World, has Douglas!

Even though its located in steamy central Florida, Walt Disney World is a perfect Christmas destination, and Douglas only adds to the magic of the holiday season.
