The Walt Disney World Resort has announced an exciting refresh of its Pop Century Resort, specifically the hotel’s lobby area. Exact details remain unknown, though Disney World has stated guests can expect the lobby to feel “retro-inspired” once the renovation is complete.

Work began on the project on July 21 and is expected to continue through October. Below is Disney World’s official statement regarding its Pop Century Resort update:

From July 21 through early October, the lobby at Disney’s Pop Century Resort will get a retro-inspired refresh. The lobby will remain open during construction, and all amenities will still be available. Guests may hear or see maintenance in the area until work is complete

Pop Century has received numerous upgrades over the last several months, with work extending to the hotel’s rooms, pool area, and gift shop. There are several hotels to choose from at Walt Disney World, with Disney’s Pop Century Resort being one of the most popular. The hotel is a popular choice due to its (comparatively) low price as well as its fun theming. Guests will have the ability to explore and relive famous decades like the 50s, 60s, and 70s during their stay.

This update comes amid widespread renovations across Disney World’s four theme parks, with plenty of big upgrades planned for the coming years.

One of the most exciting projects is the construction of a new Monsters Inc.-themed land for Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Named Monstropolis, this new land will feature all kinds of areas and attractions, including a suspended roller coaster thrill ride.

Work is also underway to transform DinoLand at Disney’s Animal Kingdom into a new Tropical Americas area. Once complete, this new area of the park will feature attractions based on popular Disney brands and franchises like Encanto and Indiana Jones.
