Disney Cruise Line has unveiled a bold new look for Minnie Mouse, and it’s turning heads for all the right reasons. This week, as part of its exciting Disney Destiny announcement, Disney revealed an all-new design for Minnie that celebrates her independence like never before. The Disney Destiny, one of Disney Cruise Line’s upcoming ships, promises a sailing experience filled with thrilling heroes, infamous villains, and a powerful new take on Minnie Mouse herself.
According to the Disney Parks Blog, the Disney Destiny will transport guests into “the epic duality of good and evil as the environment transforms throughout the cruise.” The ship’s grand hall takes inspiration from Black Panther (2018), while The Sanctum lounge draws from the mystical world of Doctor Strange (2016). And the Marvel Studios fun doesn’t stop there; Loki will make a mischievous appearance mid-cruise, attempting to seize control of the vessel.
Marvel characters aren’t the only ones making waves. The Disney Destiny will also spotlight beloved Walt Disney Animation Studios characters in fresh ways. Cruella de Vil headlines her own piano lounge, while Dr. Facilier and Maleficent will surprise guests throughout the voyage. Fans of Hercules (1997) can look forward to the Broadway-style production “Disney Hercules,” featuring stunning puppetry and the theatrical debut of “Shooting Star,” a ballad originally penned for Hercules by Alan Menken and David Zippel.
But perhaps the biggest transformation of all belongs to Minnie Mouse. On this new ship, Minnie is stepping out of Mickey’s shadow and embracing her own superhero identity. On Monday, Disney Cruise Line shared the first images of Superhero Minnie Mouse, complete with a heroic costume designed especially for her debut aboard the Disney Destiny.

As of now, there’s no word on whether Mickey Mouse will sport a matching superhero ensemble, but Minnie is clearly leading the charge as a symbol of empowerment and independence.
