Property Valued at $750+ Reported Stolen From Magic Kingdom Area on Thursday

A report of grand theft sent law enforcement to the area around Magic Kingdom Park and Disney’s Contemporary Resort on Thursday afternoon. The call came in at a time when many guests were out enjoying the original Walt Disney World Resort theme park.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office took the call at 1:03 p.m. on October 15. The account @WDWActiveCrime, which tracks police activity in and around Walt Disney World Resort, shared the public scanner entry on X (formerly known as Twitter):

A Google Maps screenshot attached to the post marks a spot on World Drive, which runs between the park and the hotel. That pin may not mean much, since responses in this part of Walt Disney World Resort are routinely logged under the same address. The theft could have taken place inside Magic Kingdom Park, at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, or somewhere along the walkway connecting the two.

What “Grand Theft” Means in Florida

Under Florida law, theft becomes grand theft when the property or currency involved is valued at $750 or more. That threshold is why the headline refers to goods worth at least that amount. Beyond the classification, little is known about the case.

What Remains Unknown

Nothing has been released about what was taken, how many suspects may be involved, or whether those accused were guests, cast members, or people passing through.

Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t commented, which is typical when law enforcement responds on its property. More information could surface if the Orange County Sheriff’s Office publishes a police report or files criminal charges.
