Disney World Bulldozes Adults-Only Location Amid Kid-Friendly Summer Push

Walt Disney World Resort is leaning toward family-friendly advertising this year, offering a free dining plan for kids and discounted summer tickets. Amid this push, the adults-only Jellyrolls piano bar at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn has officially closed its doors.
After over 20 years of entertaining guests, Jellyrolls played its final songs on April 19, 2025. “Piano Man” and “My Life” were the bar’s last tunes, the latter being the very first song ever performed when it opened in 1996. Hundreds of guests gathered to enjoy one of the last adults-only offerings at Walt Disney World Resort for the final time.

Just days after Jellyrolls closed for the final time, Disney began the demolition of the iconic location. According to WDWNT, crews have already removed some of the prominent signage, including the letters “J,” “E,” and “L” from the bar’s vibrant purple sign. The “dueling piano bar” sign and round Jellyrolls logo were taken down as well. Guests spotted the removed letters on a nearby golf cart before Disney cast members swiftly took them away.
The changes don’t stop there. Guests spotted an “Awning Works” truck near the shuttered piano bar, and sure enough, crews were actively removing the red awnings that hung over the building’s windows. Green barriers now block off the entire area, effectively closing it to Disney’s BoardWalk visitors.

Jellyrolls has plans to relocate outside Walt Disney World Resort, although they have yet to announce any details. The future of the space at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn remains unclear, with no official word on what might take Jellyrolls’ place.
Guests looking for an adults-only offering at Disney’s BoardWalk can check out the Atlantic Dance Hall, which is open from 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. on select nights. Find the hours on the My Disney Experience app or Walt Disney World Resort’s website.
