‘Home Alone’ Gets a New Disney+ Special With a Very Familiar Character
The Home Alone franchise is getting another Christmas adventure, with an official new trailer offering a first look at a festive tale involving a seemingly abandoned house and unwanted guests.
Since Home Alone (1990) became a Christmas favorite, the series has spawned several follow-ups, including Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992), Home Alone 3 (1997), Home Alone 4 (2002), Home Alone: The Holiday Heist (2012), and Home Sweet Home Alone (2021).
While the first two films center on Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin), the rest of the series features mostly different main protagonists. And now, with the holidays on the way, another unlikely hero is set to lead an all-new Home Alone story.

However, there’s a pretty significant difference between this adventure and the previous Home Alone entries. The clue’s in the name, as this special is called Mickey’s Home Alone, and its two unlikely defenders are none other than Mickey Mouse and Pluto.
They’re left behind after Minnie surprises the gang with tickets to a world-famous Ice Palace, while a raccoon and a weasel set their sights on the Christmas dinner. Watch the official trailer:
Produced by Wild Canary in association with Disney Jr., the animated special is directed by Shane Prigmore, with Tom Rogers serving as executive producer and Rachel Ruderman as co-executive producer.
Mickey’s Home Alone premieres on Disney Jr. on November 26, before arriving on Disney+ the following day in the United States and internationally.
Disney Channel will also broadcast an encore on November 30, while the special is scheduled to join Freeform’s annual 25 Days of Christmas lineup on December 19.
There will also be special screenings at the Paley Center for Media’s Paleyland event in New York City on December 5.
