Disney Guest Tears Leg While Entering Matterhorn Ride Vehicle

Since each park opened, there have been unfortunate incidents involving injuries at Disney theme parks. Despite Disney’s stringent protocols, these incidents have raised concerns about the safety and well-being of visitors. It is essential for visitors to be aware of the potential risks associated with theme park attractions and to take necessary precautions to ensure their own safety and that of others around them.

Disney parks, like any other amusement park, have various rides and attractions that can pose risks if proper care and attention are not exercised. It’s crucial for visitors to follow all safety guidelines provided by the park and to use common sense when engaging in park activities to prevent accidents and injuries.

Injury on Disneyland’s Matterhorn

A previous incident on Disneyland’s iconic Matterhorn ride has once again brought attention to the issue of theme park injuries. The Matterhorn, a popular attraction at Disneyland Park, is known for its thrilling bobsled ride through the mountain. Unfortunately, this ride has also been a site of injuries over the years, with guests occasionally experiencing discomfort or harm during the fast-paced journey.

The park management is usually quick to respond to any incidents, ensuring that the safety of their visitors is a top priority. Despite the precautions taken, accidents can still occur, reminding visitors of the inherent risks associated with theme park adventures. It is essential for theme park attendees to adhere to all safety guidelines and instructions provided by the park to minimize the chances of injuries and accidents during their visit.

In the case of this guest, their accident was not anyone’s fault in particular. As the guest tells it, they were entering their ride vehicle on the Matterhorn when their knee turned in an odd way. The guest felt a pop and knew they were injured. They said:

“A year before they changed the cars on Matterhorn, I got in and turned my body to face forward. My knee turned but my foot didn’t. Heard a pop and ended up riding the whole ride while holding my knee together. They helped me off, wheeled me to the medical center, and asked 3 or 4 times what happened.

Ended up tearing my ACL and MCL and needed 3 surgeries to fix it. Complete freak accident and no one’s fault, Disney didn’t follow up with me. I didn’t really expect them to do anything either.”

Disney Injured Are, Unfortunately, Common

It isn’t just this guest who has experienced such an incident. In the same Reddit thread where this story was shared, dozens of other Disney guests describe their excruciating injuries while at the parks. For some guests, Disney even offered free toys, dining, or merchandise to help make up for the incident.

As we have previously reported, dozens of injuries are reported yearly across theme parks around America. Theme park injuries can happen for a variety of reasons, including mechanical malfunctions, slips and falls, or even the negligence of other visitors.

It is important for visitors to report any incidents or hazards they encounter to park staff to prevent further accidents. Overall, while Disney parks strive to provide a fun and magical experience for all guests, it is important for visitors to prioritize their safety and be cautious while enjoying all that the parks have to offer.
