Fact or Fiction?  10 Myths About Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom

Aladdin Camel

1.  The Spitting Camel

One rumor concerns a large golden camel statue that welcomes guests to Adventureland by randomly spraying them with a stream of water.  It has been reported that the “spitting camel” is being controlled by a cast member who is watching from a hidden area, and randomly selects unsuspecting guests to receive this watery surprise.  The actual fact is that there is no cast member controlling the camel’s spitting.  It is totally random, with the camel’s head moving slowing back and forth, with intermittent sprays.  If you stand there long enough, you will notice a pattern developing whereby you will know when and where the camel’s spit will strike next.
