Disney World Raises Prices Again Despite Fan Backlash—Here’s What’s Changing

Planning a Disney World trip is already an expensive endeavor, and now it’s about to get even pricier. Disney is officially raising the cost of Lightning Lane passes, meaning if you want to skip the lines, you’ll need to shell out even more cash.

Breaking Down the Price Increases

Starting March 3, 2025, the Premier Lightning Lane Pass will see some major price hikes. Here’s what you’ll pay per person for the privilege of skipping the lines:

  • Magic Kingdom – $449
  • EPCOT – $249 (up from $239)
  • Hollywood Studios – $349 (up from $339)
  • Animal Kingdom – $199 (up from $159)

Yes, you read that right—nearly $450 per person for a single day of line-skipping at Magic Kingdom. And remember, that’s in addition to the standard park ticket, which already costs over $100 per day.

It’s not just the Premier Pass seeing an increase. Animal Kingdom’s Multi Pass option will also cost $10 more, bringing the price up to $29 per person.

Why Is Disney Raising Prices Again?

If you’ve been following Disney’s pricing trends, this shouldn’t come as a shock. Spring Break is one of the busiest times of the year, and with massive crowds expected, Disney is capitalizing on demand.

Additionally, Animal Kingdom is undergoing a major transformation. DinoLand U.S.A. is permanently closing, and It’s Tough to Be a Bug will shut down on March 17, 2025, to make way for a Zootopia-themed attraction. With fewer rides available, demand for Lightning Lanes will likely increase.

Are Lightning Lanes Still Worth It?

That depends. If you hate waiting in lines and are willing to pay for convenience, the Premier Pass might still be worth it—especially at Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, where wait times are consistently high.

But if you’re on a budget, you might want to skip it. Planning your day strategically by arriving early, using Virtual Queues, and hopping in line during fireworks or parades can still help you experience top attractions without the extra cost.

With Universal’s Epic Universe set to open in 2025, many fans are starting to question whether Disney’s never-ending price hikes are worth it.

What do you think? Are these price increases justified, or is Disney going too far?

At Walt Disney World Resort, Andrew will likely be found rocking on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT, or enjoying Pirates of the Caribbean and the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover at Magic Kingdom. Over at Universal, he'll be taking in the thrills of the Jurassic World Velocicoaster and Revenge of the Mummy. In addition to theme parks, Andrew also covers numerous entertainment topics, including Johnny Depp, Dwayne Johnson, Marvel, Netflix, and much more. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

  1. No it is not worth it. 👎 In fact Disney World is not worth it anymore. It used to be a pleasue to say, I am booking a vacation to Disney world, now, yes the hype might still be there when you arrive, but the excitement is gone once you step out into a lobby, a restaurant or a Park. People and staff are not friendly anymore. It’s just a job. Take our attitude or stuff it as if to say. We are cancelling our vacation this year, which was booked since last year, for a number of reasons. It’s a shame. We have been going to Disney since 1976. It’s not a lie. We have seen Parks open, new resorts open, changes galore. It was fun! Somehow, Disney got greedy. Took away that child excitement feeling and put an enormous dollar sign on it. Maybe, one day people will get wise and say why am I filling the pockets of the CEO’s. The rich may continue, but the average Joe may not.
