Unruly Behavior: Parents Let Kids Relieve Themselves in Public at Disney Parks
In recent years, there has been an alarming rise in incidents of public urination within Disney Parks, particularly at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. Once considered rare, these occurrences are becoming more frequently shared in online forums and social media platforms. Guests have begun to document and voice their shock regarding how some parents manage their children’s bathroom needs at Disneyland Resort.
One particularly striking account emerged from a Reddit post where a parent was seen instructing their three-year-old to urinate against the wall in a Disneyland Park gift shop, Pooh Corner. This incident quickly garnered widespread attention, leading many Disney Parks fans to share similar stories they witnessed during their visits. It raised concerns about the appropriateness of such behavior in a family-friendly environment.
Disneyland Resort Guests Share Their Experiences
Guests visiting Disneyland expect a certain level of cleanliness and decorum.
However, reports of parents allowing their children to relieve themselves in public spaces have cluttered the anecdotal evidence regarding park etiquette. Several individuals have recounted watching parents let their children urinate in lines for rides or in broad daylight without any form of privacy.
For instance, another guest shared their experience of witnessing a mother who let her child urinate while waiting in line for the popular attraction, Radiator Springs Racers. According to the observer, the mother did not even bother to warn the guests standing behind them that “the puddle now on the ground was urine.”
“I had a kid squat down and pee on my shoe in the Finding Nemo line,” another Disney Parks fan replied. “The mom just looked at me and shrugged.”
A former Disney cast member also shared their experiences with unruly guests.
“I did see a dad letting his kid take a dump in a planter right in front of the Fantasyland restrooms,” the former Disney cast member wrote. “I ran into a dad and his kid backstage, and the kid was peeing against the Indiana Jones wall. Apparently they were in line, and the kid had to go, so the dad took him out an exit door while they were in line and they ended up backstage.”
One Disney Park guest witnessed a mother throw her child’s fecal matter into the Pirates of the Caribbean ride water.
“I was on the Pirate ride boat once and a kid took a dump in the boat and started screaming,” they recalled. “His mom picked up the poo with her hand and tossed it in the water.”
Hopefully, it goes without saying that urinating or defecating in public is unhygienic and dangerous to other Disney Park guests. Ask a Disney cast member for the nearest restroom or visit a Baby Care Center if your child has a bathroom emergency during your visit to Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World Resort.
