Disney World Updates France Pavilion Attraction at EPCOT Park
Guests lining up for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT now have something new to watch before they ever board a ratmobile. Walt Disney World has quietly installed a new effect in the attraction’s queue, and it features the ride’s star chef and his family hard at work.

A Silent Upgrade Spotted in Line
The addition was first highlighted by Disney fan account @DrewDisneyDude, who shared footage from the queue on X with the following message:
“New magic has been added to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT! Guests can now spot Remy, Emile, and their friends preparing for the grand feast while waiting in the queue. Silent attraction improvements are the best. 🙌”
The clip shows one of the queue’s backlit lattice windows, with the new scene playing out in silhouette behind it. Disney did not announce the change ahead of time, which is typical for small touches of this kind.
Inside the Ride
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is a trackless dark ride inspired by Pixar’s 2007 film Ratatouille. Riders are shrunk to rat size and climb aboard ratmobiles that scurry through Gusteau’s restaurant in Paris, dodging chefs and racing across rooftops with Remy leading the way. The ride once paired large 3D screens with physical sets, but after a closure last year, Disney swapped the 3D imagery for 2D visuals. Temperature and scent effects round out the experience, placing guests in the thick of the kitchen chaos.

The attraction is located in the France pavilion in World Showcase, set within a recreated Parisian square that expanded the pavilion’s footprint. It opened on October 1, 2021, the same day Walt Disney World launched its 50th anniversary celebration. The Florida ride is modeled on the original, which debuted at Disneyland Paris in 2014 in the park now known as Disney Adventure World.
Small Change, Big Picture
A new queue effect is minor in scale, but it arrives while Walt Disney World is in the middle of a sweeping expansion. At Magic Kingdom, Piston Peak National Park, a Cars-themed area, is taking shape on the former Rivers of America site, alongside Villains Land, a land devoted to Disney’s most infamous characters. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is preparing Monstropolis, which will bring the world of Monsters, Inc. to life, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom is turning DinoLand U.S.A. into the Tropical Americas, with attractions inspired by Encanto and Indiana Jones.
Until those projects open, EPCOT guests have a fresh reason to look around while they wait.
