Disney World to Host Four-Game Banana Ball Open at ESPN Wide World of Sports in 2027

April 15 to 18, 2027. ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Walt Disney World.

Four games. All six Banana Ball teams. Tickets from $35.

Lottery list closes October 31.

That last line is the one to pay attention to, so handle it before you keep reading. BananaBall.com. Free to join, commits you to nothing, takes a minute.

Some context.

Banana Ball came through Wide World of Sports earlier this year and played two games. Sold out, packed, people lost their minds.

Two games.

Next year, it is four games over four days, with the entire league on site.

That is not Disney rebooking a fun thing. That is Disney turning a tour stop into a destination event.

Getting All Six Teams Is the Actual Headline

Banana Ball is a touring operation. Teams scatter across the country because that is how you cover markets.

Savannah Bananas. Loco Beach Coconuts. Firefighters. Party Animals. Indianapolis Clowns. Texas Tailgaters.

All six. Same complex. Four days.

The league basically stops what it is doing and shows up in Central Florida, which is why this gets called an Open instead of a series. The fan experience has every roster in the league on hand.

The announcement came during the Banana Ball Selection Show on ESPN2, which dropped the whole 2027 schedule.

About the $35

Thirty-five dollars. For comparison, go price a single-day Disney park ticket and come back.

One thing to understand, though. Wide World of Sports is on Disney property, but it is not a park. Your $35 gets you into Banana Ball. It does not get you into Magic Kingdom.

Which honestly works out. Day four of a Disney trip is exactly when everybody is fried, and somebody suggests a cheaper, calmer, non-park day. This is that day, except it is also one of the best live shows in sports.

The Dates Are Smart

Mid-April is a good window. Spring break crowds have mostly cleared, Florida summer has not shown up yet, and the parks are in one of their better stretches.

Four days also means a long weekend, not a full week of vacation time burned.

Why the Lottery Exists

Because Banana Ball sells out. Consistently. That is the whole reason there is a list instead of a normal ticket drop.

Lottery closes October 31. Event is six months after that.

No reason to wait. Get on it, figure out the trip later.

There Is a Documentary Too

Fall 2027, Disney+ and Hulu. Music-driven documentary tracking the ten-year run from Savannah, Georgia, to whatever you call this now. The marketing says “The Greatest Show in Sports.” The teaser is already out.

David Beilinson directing. Produced by Connor Schell’s Words + Pictures and Ampersand, which belongs to Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

Eleven original songs from Pasek and Paul, who have an EGOT between them, plus Ashley Gorley, Cal Shapiro, Ben Johnson, Adam Yaron, Jake Sinclair, Brandon Bomer, Jarius Jones and Jesse Cole.

Banana Ball people will spot that last name immediately.

And eleven original songs means this is basically a musical, not a 30 for 30. Which fits. The entire premise of Banana Ball is that baseball should be a show first. Making the documentary a show first is the same idea pointed at a camera.

Disney Is Not the Landlord Here

Run the list of everything Banana Ball and Disney have done together.

Banana Bowl streamed on Disney+ and Disney YouTube. Bananas games on ESPN and Disney+. Jackson Olson on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. Savannah Bananas Day at Disneyland Resort. A game at Wide World of Sports. A summer event at Dunkin’ Park in Hartford, which is where ESPN lives.

Disney+. Hulu. ESPN. ESPN2. ABC. Disney YouTube. Disneyland. Walt Disney World.

That is not a venue renting out a field. Banana Ball is running through nearly every pipe Disney owns, and the live events are just the part you can buy a ticket to.

Which is the best possible sign this becomes a yearly thing.

One Last Thing

Wide World of Sports has other stuff going on, including ESPN8: The Ocho, now in its second year.

If you are building a spring 2027 trip anyway, pull up the complex calendar next to the park hours. There is usually more there than people check for.

April 15 to 18. Lottery by Halloween.
