Disney World Is Reopening This Magic Kingdom Restaurant, But Almost Everything Has Changed

Guests waiting for The Diamond Horseshoe to reopen at Magic Kingdom finally have another important piece of the puzzle.

The Liberty Square restaurant is scheduled to welcome guests back beginning October 4, 2026, but anyone hoping to lock in a table can start making plans a few days earlier.

Disney has announced that dining reservations for The Diamond Horseshoe will open September 29 at 8 p.m. ET.

The specific evening launch time is something guests will want to remember, particularly if they hope to visit during the restaurant’s first few days back in operation. While Disney will allow walk-ups, securing a reservation could take some uncertainty out of an already busy Magic Kingdom day.

And when The Diamond Horseshoe returns, guests will find a restaurant that looks quite different from the dining experience they previously knew.

Dining Returns After a Months-Long Break

Regular table-service dining at The Diamond Horseshoe ended on May 16, 2026, as Disney prepared the location for a temporary summer experience.

Jessie’s Roundup moved into the space as part of Cool Kids’ Summer, operating from May 26 through September 8. The Toy Story experience was never intended to become a permanent replacement for the restaurant, and Disney said dining would eventually return in fall 2026.

Now that return is almost here.

The Diamond Horseshoe officially reopens October 4, less than a week after reservations become available.

Rather than simply restoring its previous operation, Disney is giving the restaurant an entirely new menu centered heavily around small plates and shareable dishes.

The Diamond Horseshoe Gets a New Menu

Guests will have several savory options when the restaurant reopens.

The charcuterie offering includes cured beef, candied bacon, smoked pork, green chile cheese, smoked cheddar, and pickles.

Another option is Glazed Sticky Ribs served with cowboy beans and jalapeño crisps. Guests looking for something cheesy can order Queso Fundido with Barbecue Burnt Ends and warm tortilla chips.

Sweet Golden Corn Fritters will come with cilantro ranch dressing and red chili honey, while the Chipotle Chicken Tostada features queso fresco, lime crema, and pickled cactus salsa.

There’s even a Mini Hot Dog Platter featuring hot dogs wrapped in pastry and served alongside tortilla chips and queso.

The format could work particularly well for families and groups who would rather order several items and share instead of committing to individual entrées.

Drinks Become a Bigger Part of the Experience

Disney has also built a sizable beverage menu for the returning restaurant.

Four specialty non-alcoholic beverages are planned, including an Orange Cream Soda made with Fanta Orange, vanilla, and cream. Guests can also try an Enchanting Ember Lemonade featuring strawberry and hot honey.

The alcoholic menu includes six cocktails.

Among them is the Cactus Rose Margarita with LALO Blanco Tequila and prickly pear. The Coal’d Fashioned takes another approach by pairing bourbon with cold brew coffee liqueur.

Disney will also offer a seasonal In Holiday Fashion cocktail, along with wine and three draft beers.

One Date Guests Should Remember

The Diamond Horseshoe’s October 4 reopening gives Magic Kingdom visitors another dining option in Liberty Square, but those planning early October trips don’t have much time to prepare.

Reservations don’t open until September 29 at 8 p.m. ET, leaving only five days between the start of bookings and the restaurant’s return.

Walk-ups will provide another opportunity for guests who can’t find a reservation. Still, anyone determined to experience the revamped restaurant immediately after it opens may want to be ready when bookings begin.

After months of serving a completely different purpose, The Diamond Horseshoe is almost a restaurant again.

And this time, Disney isn’t just reopening an old Magic Kingdom dining location. It’s introducing a new version of it.
