Disney World Guests Have Just Three Days To Get Cheaper Vacations With This Hack

A new way to save at Walt Disney World Resort—but there’s a twist.
This summer, the Walt Disney World Resort is preparing for a major milestone: for the first time in six years, all six theme parks—Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, and Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park—will open simultaneously beginning May 21. As Central Florida gears up for a busy season, especially with Universal’s Epic Universe on the horizon, a limited-time way to stretch vacation budgets has been quietly revealed.
From May 2 to May 4, Sam’s Club members can take advantage of a special promotion: 10% off $200 Disney gift cards, with a limit of four per customer. That’s $800 worth of Disney spending power for only $720—a savings of $80 that can be used toward everything from dining and merchandise to theme park tickets and vacation packages.
As confirmed by planDisney in 2023, Disney Gift Cards are easy to use when booking a stay.
“…you can absolutely make your Disney Resort hotel reservation payment using a Disney Gift Card. If you haven’t already booked your reservation, while you’re finalizing the booking, you should see the option to pay with a Disney Gift Card during the checkout process,” planDisney explains. “The website allows Guests to pay using one Disney Gift Card; however, if you have multiple Disney Gift Cards, no worries. You can create an account on the Disney Gift Card website. The site allows you to combine your Disney Gift Cards into one for up to $1000.”
And if that doesn’t fully cover it, Disney encourages guests to reach out to a cast member directly for assistance.
These options come as vacation costs across the board continue to rise—and Disney is no exception. From theme park tickets and resort stays to add-on offerings like the Lightning Lane service, a visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth can require some careful financial planning.
The topic has not gone unnoticed by The Walt Disney Company’s leadership. CEO Bob Iger, who resumed the role in late 2022, recently addressed the value proposition Disney offers guests. Rather than focusing solely on costs, Iger emphasized the scale and quality of Disney’s experiences compared to other high-priced entertainment.
“Disney has stood the test of time as a constant source of happiness for families and communities, and a shining example of innovation and imagination,” Iger shared in a recent letter. “That enduring cultural influence sets Disney apart as both a brand and business, which is a privilege we take seriously. That’s why we’ve always believed it’s important to be one of the world’s most admired companies — not only for what we create, but for the positive impact we have.”
This statement was part of a new initiative on Disney’s official website, which highlights the company’s broad economic footprint in the United States. “Since its founding in 1923, Disney has played an integral part in the American experience, contributing to the economy and helping to positively shape culture, innovation, and communities,” the page reads. “From entertainment and travel to consumer products and sports, we employ 160,000 people in all 50 states.”
Still, there’s no question that a Disney vacation is a serious investment. While special promotions like the Disney Dining Plan and limited-time gift card savings help, an average visit can cost thousands—even before adding extras.
And yet, demand remains high. The 2024 debut of the Lightning Lane Premier Pass, which can cost up to $449 per guest per day, saw sellouts even during off-peak times. For some, Disney’s immersive storytelling and timeless appeal remain well worth the price.

Comparisons to other top-tier entertainment experiences only reinforce this perspective. Concertgoers recently paid thousands for tickets to see artists like Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and Lady Gaga for just one night. Super Bowl entry-level seats hovered around $3,000, according to CBS.
While not everyone will opt for premium add-ons, Disney’s approach appears to be resonating with a large segment of its audience. The company’s message is clear: while the cost of joy may be rising everywhere, Disney continues to deliver memorable experiences that stand apart.
