Disney Issues Warning for EPCOT Attraction: Visitors Beware
If there’s one thing we know about Disney park guests, many are not above breaking the rules. Some even go out of their way to do so.
So that’s why we’re a little incredulous about visitors following Walt Disney World’s posted request at EPCOT’s hew attraction, Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana. Inside the attraction, guests embark on a self-guided journey along a lush trail that allows them to interact and play with water throughout its natural cycle “from the sky to the oceans and back again.
So, what’s the rule Disney World is asking guests to follow?

Please don’t drink the water.
Written on a round tiki-type sign toward the start of the attraction is an explanatory warning reading, “Water in this experience is collected and recirculated. Please do not drink it!”
Signs underneath go on to say, “Our Water Cycle: This water is carefully captured, cleaned, and returned to the experience, much like the water journeying through the global water cycle. Our filtration system is inspired by what nature does!”

So yes, even though the water does go through a filtration system, that absolutely does not mean that it is safe to drink!
Consider that Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, is a wholly interactive guest experience. At least one section where visitors put their hands into flowing streams to make different musical notes. Beautiful, but certainly not sanitary for you to be consuming.
Not only that, but the water is also exposed to a handful of other theme park oddities that you don’t want to ingest.
Though the facts are clear, some guests are already gearing up to drink the Journey of Water water. They’re probably the same people who go out of their way to drink the ride water at attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean and the former Splash Mountain. If you’re those people, then this sign at EPCOT and water quality probably don’t matter to you anyway.

Stay safe and healthy, people! We know Florida heat can be oppressive but just drink your own clean water, please. Te Fiti is judging you!
EPCOT’s Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana attraction is currently open for all guests to enjoy. It has been a widespread experience in EPCOT’s World Nature since its opening on October 16, 2023.
Do you think people will drink the water regardless of Disney’s warnings? Let us know in the comments.
