Disney Will Let Tourists in Early at One Park – Locals Not Included

As Hong Kong Disneyland prepares to mark a major milestone this summer, the resort is rolling out one of its most ambitious and internationally targeted campaigns yet. With new entertainment, merchandise, and lands coming into focus, the park is positioning itself as one of Disney’s fastest-evolving destinations. But for some guests, a new perk may raise eyebrows more than anticipation.
Disney parks have long offered early entry to select guests, a strategy designed to reward hotel visitors or incentivize package deals. At Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort in the U.S., early entry means 30 extra minutes each morning for guests staying on property. At Disneyland Paris, hotel guests receive a full hour of Extra Magic Time, while Tokyo Disney Resort offers a 15-minute “Happy Entry” for certain guests depending on their hotel tier and the park they’re visiting that day.

Now, Hong Kong Disneyland is expanding that concept—but with a twist. In collaboration with the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the resort has announced a new campaign granting exclusive early park access not to hotel guests or passholders, but to international visitors only.
A Limited-Time Offer for Overseas Fans
Beginning June 28, 50 overseas guests per day will be eligible for a coveted “Early Park Entry Pass,” which allows access to the park before regular operating hours. Applications for the first round open June 23 at noon, Hong Kong time, with the pass valid between June 28 and July 31. A second round will open July 23, covering the month of August. The campaign, designed to boost inbound tourism, pointedly excludes local residents.
In addition to the early entry benefit, visitors who spend $100 or more in merchandise will receive a limited-edition 20th anniversary-themed postcard, complete with free international shipping. The postcards can be redeemed at either Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A. or Northern Delights in the new World of Frozen land, and are available through August 31—while supplies last.

This is in addition to the existing Early Park Entry Pass, which is available to all guests – regardless of whether they’re a tourist or local – to pre-purchase for HK $199 ($25.35).
20 Years of Magic—and Momentum
The early entry program coincides with the launch of Hong Kong Disneyland’s 20th anniversary celebration, dubbed The Most Magical Party of All.
The festivities begin June 28 with a new castle show, Disney Friends Live: Party at the Castle!, and a record-setting daytime parade called Friendtastic!, which features 11 floats and over 100 performers. The enhanced Momentous nighttime show will now include drones, laser effects, water projections, and pyrotechnics.

Over 80 limited-time food and beverage items are debuting across the park and resort hotels, along with more than 300 pieces of exclusive merchandise. Even the resort hotels are participating with themed latte art, craft stations, and keepsake invitations.
Beyond the anniversary, the park is preparing for its third Marvel ride, a Spider-Man attraction rumored to use the same ride system as Tower of Terror, and a new Pixar-themed experience unique to Hong Kong.
With attendance at an all-time high and the resort turning a profit for the first time in nearly a decade, Hong Kong Disneyland is making a strong case for its global relevance. Whether the new early entry perk becomes a point of contention or a clever incentive, it’s clear the resort is determined to keep its momentum—and its gates—open to the world.
