Disney Transportation 101 - 7 Ways to Get Around at Disney World Resort

Bus Stop

6. Monorail

The monorail is a super cool, classic Disney transportation option that everyone should experience at least once.

The monorail picks up and drops off at the Transportation and Ticket Center, Polynesian Resort, Contemporary Resort, Grand Floridian Resort, Magic Kingdom, and Epcot. It's usually pretty efficient, but the trains have been known to break down from time to time. Still, we love the monorail and use it regularly.

Those who are staying in Resort Hotels other than the ones listed above are not likely to need the monorail, but you might want to hop on anyway, if only for the experience.

5. Boats

There are boats of all shapes and sizes on Disney property. An enormous ferry boat totes visitors from the Transportation and Ticket Center to Magic Kingdom and back again. Meanwhile, there are smaller boats to get from Magic Kingdom to Fort Wilderness Campground, Wilderness Lodge, and several other resorts.

Of course, Magic Kingdom isn't the only park to offer boat transportation. The FriendShip boat runs back and forth between Epcot and Hollywood Studios and services all resorts in between. Meanwhile, there are boats in Disney Springs that'll give guests a ride back to a few different resorts.

Boat transportation is rarely the fastest way to get where you're going in Disney World, but it is often the most fun and interesting.
