Disney Park Stuns Fans with Quiet Confirmation of New Land Opening Next Month

Disney seems to have quietly confirmed an opening date for its newest theme park land, World Premiere.

A lot of changes are changing at Disney parks over the next few years. As was first announced in 2023, Disney is currently investing a whopping $60 billion into its theme parks and experiences, which includes changes at its resorts across the globe.

Some of the exciting changes funded by this investment include new attractions, expanded park areas, and technological upgrades to enhance immersion. These are inspired by everything from Encanto (2021) and Indiana Jones at Animal Kingdom, to Coco (2017) – which is also set to receive an unexpected sequel – and the Avatar franchise at Disney California Adventure Park.

At Disneyland Paris, the biggest changes are currently occurring at Walt Disney Studios Park.

The entrance to Walt Disney Studios Park features a yellow archway with the park's name, while the iconic water tower adorned with Mickey Mouse ears stands in the background. Amidst a picturesque setting of trees and a brick-paved plaza under a blue sky, whispers about Disneyland Paris castle damage linger.

The theme park has long been considered the weakest link in Disney’s global portfolio. Opening in 2002 at Disneyland Paris, the park was criticized for its lack of immersive theming, limited attractions, and barebones layout. Unlike other Disney parks, it lacked a clear identity, relying heavily on studio backlot aesthetics rather than rich storytelling.

Over the years, expansions like Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy and Avengers Campus have improved its offerings, but comparisons to other Disney parks remain unfavorable. However, Disney isn’t giving up on the park just yet, with its ongoing renovations set to transform 90% of the park by the time they’re complete.

A major step in these renovations seems to be right around the corner. As reported by DLP Report, the stores and restaurants in the park’s newest land – World Premiere – are now marked as opening on April 26, 2025.

⚠️ World Premiere shops and its restaurant are all marked as open from April 26, suggesting this will be the opening date for the re-imagined venue.

What Is World Premiere?

World Premiere is set to replace the park’s entry land, formerly known as Studio 1, which closed last April.

For years, Studio 1 was designed as a Hollywood soundstage but was cluttered with cardboard cutouts, neon lights, and underwhelming dining options. It failed to make a strong first impression on Walt Disney Studios Park visitors.

As Walt Disney Studios Park transitions into Disney Adventure World—shifting from a studio theme to full immersion in beloved films—its entrance is evolving to match this new vision.

When World Premiere debuts, it will honor Hollywood’s historic movie theaters and the film industry. Guests will be “transported into a vibrant, contemporary open-air movie studio.” Inside the former Studio 1, they’ll become “special guests of a glamorous film premiere in the heart of Hollywood on a starry night.”

The primary dining outlet in World Premiere will be The Hollywood Gardens Restaurant, with a faux-outdoors atmosphere, similar to that found at Captain Jack’s – Restaurant des Pirates in Disneyland Park.

Beyond the building, guests will step into World Premiere Plaza, home to the park’s theater district, which hosts productions like TOGETHER: a Pixar Musical Adventure. The space is described as “a stylish Art Déco-inspired setting.” Walt Disney Imagineering is already working to transform the area into “a dynamic and warm environment with décor inspired by the famous facades of Broadway and West End theaters.” At night, bright lights will “illuminate the whole experience!”

The latest developments do point to Disney putting the finishing touches on World Premiere right now, with the outdoor sign that previously read “Walt Disney Studios Park” removed this week. Whether it opens on April 25 or not, here’s hoping that World Premiere makes for a more majestic entrance than Studio 1!
