Disney Springs Location Reopens With New Identity After Closure

The wait is over in Town Center. Athletic apparel brand Vuori opened its new Disney Springs store on October 16, ending a months-long vacancy at the Walt Disney World Resort shopping, dining, and entertainment district.

Disney Confirms the Debut

Word of the opening came from the Disney Parks Blog, which included the announcement in its latest roundup of Halloween happenings. “Vuori opens today at Disney Springs, bringing its popular collection of performance apparel and lifestyle essentials to Town Center,” the post reads. “Whether you’re heading out for a morning workout or a day exploring Walt Disney World Resort, you’ll find comfortable styles there designed to help you look and feel your best.”

A Quiet Summer, Then a Final Push

The arrival didn’t happen overnight. After a construction permit hinted at Vuori as the incoming tenant, Disney Springs made it official over the summer, telling followers on its Instagram account that Vuori was “coming soon” to the former Shore space.

For much of the season, promotional advertisements were the only visible clue at the site. That changed in September, when crews repainted the awnings above the storefront, likely ahead of new signage. Reports at the time showed the space still blocked off beneath its refreshed awnings.

On September 28, Walt Disney World Resort filed a Notice of Commencement for the “installation of signage” at 1530 E. Buena Vista Dr. #1H, the address formerly occupied by Shore. Shark Signs was listed as the third-party vendor on the job. Less than three weeks after that paperwork landed, Vuori was ringing up its first customers.

Farewell to a Town Center Original

Vuori takes over from Shore, a resort-style clothing retailer that had been part of Town Center since the neighborhood opened in 2016, roughly a year after Downtown Disney was rebranded as Disney Springs. Shore was one of the earliest third-party shops in the area. It closed permanently in May following a clearance sale, though fans of the brand can still visit its Longboat Key, Florida, location or shop online.

Guests heading to Disney Springs now have another activewear stop for their shopping list, as Vuori joins the district’s expanding roster of retailers in Town Center.

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.
