Disney Springs 101- 6 Things You Must Know

Downtown Disney has transformed into Disney Springs in the most beautiful way possible and as a Disney fan, it’s a very exciting time. While there are parts of Disney Springs that will feel familiar, there are a lot of things that are new as well. As you plan your next trip to Disney Springs, here are 6 things you should know:

6. It Is Beautifully Built

We don’t always take the time to appreciate the architecture and detailing that has went into the design of the Walt Disney World Resort, but I think it’s especially important to do so at Disney Springs. The massive transformation has certainly paid off and you will want to take a million pictures of the same things over and over again.

5. Multiple Complimentary Parking Areas

The expansion of Disney Springs is bringing two new multi-level garages in addition to many parking lots, which allows even more guests to enjoy everything Disney Springs has to offer. Depending on which side of Disney Springs you’d like to go to, or end up at, you can find the most convenient parking spot for you. There will also be a bus loop so that you can travel from your resort, if you’re staying on property, and not have to drive there yourself.

4. Unique Shopping Options

In addition to some Downtown Disney favorites, such at World of Disney and Once Upon a Toy, the Disney Springs expansion has also brought some big name stores to Lake Buena Vista including Pandora, Alex and Ani and Lily Pulitzer. Now you can get a special Disney souvenir and a little something familiar with a Disney touch during your trip!

3. Unique Dining Options

I always loved the dining options at Downtown Disney, but Disney Springs has certainly stepped up its game! In addition to the restaurants that have been there for years, some of the newest offerings are The Boathouse, Morimoto Asia and STK Orlando. There are also different snacking options too, including Sprinkles Cupcakes, which I am personally the most excited about because who doesn’t love cupcakes?!

2. Free Entertainment

One of the best things about Disney Springs is the live entertainment. On any given night there will be a DJ or a band giving you the perfect music to dance or sing along to. During the day during some parts of the year, there are also groups from different schools around the country that come and perform, whether it be a band, a singing group or a musical troupe. The kids are very talented and are worth watching if you get lucky enough to catch them on stage.

1. There Is No Ticket Needed

You do not have to pay to go to Disney Springs, which is the most important thing you need to know. Unlike CityWalk at Universal, you do not need to pay for parking in order to gain entry. Because it’s free, it’s a nice alternative to going to a park when you just need a rest day but still want to be in the Disney magic. Some may say it isn’t the ‘real Disney’ because it isn’t a theme park, but it is still very much a part of the resort and should not be overlooked.

Disney Springs has certainly come a long way in what feels like a short amount of time. From new shopping and dining options to gorgeous scenery and expanded areas to accommodate more guests, it will quickly become a must do on your Disney trip. Whether you want to dine, shop, or take in the sights, Disney Springs has a little bit of everything for everyone.
