Disney Just Shared a Sneak Peek of Its Newest Pirates of the Caribbean Lounge—See Inside!

When people think of their favorite Walt Disney World Resort attractions, many iconic rides come to mind. For some, it’s the adrenaline-pumping thrills of Space Mountain, while others prefer the more laid-back experience of “it’s a small world.” Some guests love the cheesy dad jokes of the Jungle Cruise, while others are drawn to the wild excitement of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

But there’s one attraction that stands out as not just iconic but also unique, with its own song, distinct scent, and a hugely successful live-action film franchise. Yes, we’re talking about the legendary Pirates of the Caribbean!

Fans of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean attraction are in for a treat! After years of anticipation, Disney has given us an exciting new glimpse of the much-awaited lounge inspired by this beloved attraction.

A Pirate’s Paradise

If you’ve ever found yourself humming the iconic “Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life for Me)” tune while wandering through Adventureland at Magic Kingdom, you know how deep the connection to Pirates of the Caribbean runs. Since its debut in 1973, the attraction has become a must-see classic, beloved by guests of all ages.

With its signature mix of swashbuckling adventure, catchy tunes, and unforgettable characters, it’s no surprise that Disney has decided to expand on the magic with a new lounge.

The new lounge, located just beside the attraction, will take over the space once occupied by the Pirates League, which closed its doors back in 2020.

This is a major step in the evolution of the Pirates of the Caribbean experience at Walt Disney World Resort, providing fans with a new way to enjoy the rich world of pirates without stepping into the boat.

Social Media Sneak Peek

While Disney has kept many of the details under wraps, Imagineer Montse Garmilla — who began her Disney career as a cast member working on Pirates of the Caribbean — has given us a sneak peek into what we can expect from the space.

In a recent Instagram post, Garmilla shared exciting insights about the new tavern-style lounge and its unique design features.

Check out the post below for a look at how the space is coming together:

Yo ho, yo ho, an Imagineer’s life for Montse! 🏴‍☠️✨ From working at Pirates of the Caribbean during her @officialdisneyprograms to shaping the future of Magic Kingdom, talk about a full-circle moment!

The lounge, which is still in the works, will offer a cozy, immersive environment where guests can relax and unwind in true pirate fashion. They will also be able to see Barker Bird, who was removed from the attraction when it received its Johnny Depp overlay in 2006.

While much of the space is still under construction — complete with exposed structural studs — Disney has assured fans that there’s plenty of time to get the space ready for its grand opening later this year.

Captain’s Quarters

One particularly exciting addition is the “Captain’s Quarters,” a separate area located next to the main lounge. This space wasn’t originally part of the lounge design, but Disney has since decided to incorporate it as an exciting new element to enhance the guest experience.

Whether this will be a themed dining area or another type of immersive environment remains to be seen, but it’s definitely one to watch.

What’s Still Unknown

Disney has yet to reveal the full details of the lounge’s offerings. We’re still waiting on information about opening dates, menu items, and entertainment.

However, given Disney’s history of excellence when it comes to themed experiences, we can only expect great things. Could this lounge be the perfect spot to sip on a tropical drink and take in the vibes of a pirate’s life?

Stay tuned, because Inside the Magic will continue to bring you all the latest updates on the Pirates of the Caribbean Lounge as we learn more.

Are you excited for the new Pirates Lounge? What do you hope to see once the space opens? Let us know in the comments!
