Disney Pin Traders Fans Are in for a Colorful Surprise at Disney Springs

Disney Springs has had a lot going on lately. New transportation rules, updated crowd-control measures, and a general sense that the district is in the midst of meaningful change. In the middle of all that bigger news, a smaller and genuinely eye-catching transformation is unfolding at one of the most familiar stores in the Marketplace area.

Pin Traders is getting a new look, and it is happening right now in plain view of anyone walking by.

What Is Actually Changing

Pin Traders has long been recognized for its orange-brown exterior, a color that has been part of the building’s identity in Disney Springs for years. That is changing. The store is currently being repainted in a more subdued blue, and the progress is uneven enough right now to give guests a clear before-and-after look at the same building.

One side of the store already shows the new color in full, with the shingles fully painted blue. The other side tells a different story, still mostly showing the original orange-brown shade, with only a handful of shingles updated so far. A Wet Paint sign is currently posted beneath the section of the building where work is actively happening, confirming that this transformation is still in progress rather than finished.

For guests who frequent Disney Springs, Pin Traders has always stood out for its dedicated focus on pin collecting and trading, as well as its broader selection of pin-related merchandise. The store’s color has been part of how guests recognize it from a distance in the busy Marketplace area, making this repaint a genuinely noticeable shift, even though it is a relatively small project in the broader scope of what is happening at Disney Springs right now.

The Bigger Changes Surrounding It

This cosmetic update is landing in the middle of a much larger period of change for Disney Springs. Starting June 28, resort bus verification will be a permanent requirement for guests boarding resort-bound buses at Disney Springs. Cast Members will scan MagicBands or cards to confirm that guests have a valid resort reservation, dining reservation, or recreation booking before allowing them onto resort transportation, closing a long-used shortcut that some guests had relied on to reach hotels without a clear reason to be there.

Disney Springs has also updated its procedures for special merchandise release events, including the popular Pin Tuesday releases. During these events, parking garages and ride-share loops will now open at 7:00 a.m., and wristbands will be distributed exclusively at Lime Garage to help manage crowds on these high-demand mornings. The approach closely mirrors the crowd control procedures already used during Pin Tuesday events at EPCOT, suggesting Disney is applying proven strategies from one location to manage similar demand elsewhere on the property.

Why a Small Pin Traders Detail Still Stands Out

Against the backdrop of these larger operational shifts, a paint job at Pin Traders is admittedly a minor story. But it is a reminder that Disney Springs continues to receive attention at every level of its operation, from major policy changes that affect how guests move through the resort to the visual presentation of individual storefronts within the district.

For pin collectors and longtime Disney Springs regulars who know this store well, the shift from orange-brown to blue is the kind of small surprise that adds a little extra texture to a visit, even as the district works through bigger and more consequential changes elsewhere. Whether guests are stopping by Pin Traders to browse the latest pins or simply walking through the Marketplace on their way to dinner, the building’s new look is hard to miss right now, half-finished and all.
