Another Disney Parade Disaster: Major Malfunction Strikes Again

One Disney parade float experienced a not-so-magical malfunction yesterday – and not for the first time.
In a video shared by DLP Report on X (formerly known as Twitter), the float inspired by Finding Nemo (2003) in Disney Stars on Parade is currently experiencing some issues.

The Disneyland Paris parade float – which is primarily made up of a moving recreation of Crush from the animated Pixar film – is “crushed,” with the giant turtle immobile and silent.
For reference, Crush usually swims, talks, and blinks during the parade. Check out what he looks like on a good day in the video by ThemeParkPlato below.
The float has proven notoriously unreliable in the past, breaking on several occasions. It was most recently fixed just weeks ago and seemed to be working (to an extent) on January 20, but seems to have experienced yet more bad luck if this new video is anything to go by.
What makes this latest malfunction all the more significant is the fact that this week Disney announced yet another new upcharge for its parks. As of later this month, guests will be able to pay €19 ($20.62) to ensure a premium viewing spot for Disney Stars on Parade, as well as the nighttime spectacular Disney Dreams!

The same float previously underwent ‘upgrades’ in 2022 as Disney decided to replace puppeteers with animatronic versions of Nemo and Dory.
Performed multiple times per day, Disney Stars on Parade debuted in 2017 and invites Disneyland Paris guests to “admire Disney Characters on their colourful floats against a backdrop of enchanting music and immerse yourself in Disney stories like never before.” Films inspiring other floats include Sleeping Beauty (1959), Frozen (2013), and Toy Story (1995).
