Disney Park Confirms Beloved Tradition Will Never Return Again After 2027

One Disney resort is officially calling time on another theme park tradition.

From Halloween parties to Christmas celebrations, Disney’s theme parks regularly introduce limited-time entertainment to encourage repeat visits. Some events have been running for decades, while others have joined the calendar more recently, offering exclusive parades, character meet-and-greets, and seasonal decorations.

At Walt Disney World, EPCOT hosts multiple annual festivals, including the International Food & Wine Festival and the International Flower & Garden Festival. Disneyland Resort has its own lineup, with events such as Lunar New Year and the Disney Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure.

International Disney parks have also developed celebrations that cannot be experienced in the United States. However, one of these events has now reached its final chapter, with Disney confirming that its upcoming 2027 installment will be the last.

Disney Announces Final Dates for Popular Park Event

Tokyo Disneyland will officially conclude its Disney Pal-Palooza event series on March 31, 2027, bringing an end to a tradition that first began in January 2024.

The announcement was made on November 4 by Oriental Land Company, which operates Tokyo Disney Resort. The company confirmed that the seventh installment of Disney Pal-Palooza, Minnie’s Funderland, will run from January 13 through March 31, 2027.

The event will see Tokyo Disneyland transformed into a world inspired by Minnie Mouse, complete with pink decorations, exclusive merchandise, themed food, and special entertainment.

The main attraction will be Minnie @Funderland, a parade featuring Minnie Mouse alongside Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto, Goofy, and other Disney characters. Six floats will travel through the park during the approximately 40-minute performance, which is scheduled once daily.

Unlike a standard parade, Minnie @Funderland will feature three stops along the route, including one near Cinderella Castle. Guests will see different performances depending on where they watch, while Disney Premier Access will offer paid access to designated viewing areas.

The celebrations will continue after dark with Fundernight, which will bring projection mapping to Cinderella Castle. Hearts, ribbons, and polka dots will appear on the castle, accompanied by music, while specially decorated lampposts will cast pink light across the surrounding plaza.

Additional decorations will include a giant ribbon in World Bazaar and a Minnie Mouse flower bed near the entrance. The Camera Center will also introduce a special Disney Print Photo Booth where guests can purchase photographs featuring the event’s designs.

Merchandise will arrive on January 12, including Minnie-themed clothing, headbands, and the Dreamy Funder Wand, which makes lights appear heart-shaped when viewed through its transparent centerpiece.

Guests won’t have to wait until January for everything. Special food offerings, including Minnie Macarons and ribbon-shaped bread, will go on sale December 26, 2026, several weeks before the event begins.

Tokyo Disneyland Hotel will also offer special Minnie-themed rooms between January 12 and March 31. Reservations are scheduled to open on November 20, while Disney Ambassador Hotel and Tokyo Disneyland Hotel will both serve limited-time menus.

Disney’s Three-Year Celebration Reaches Its Final Chapter

Disney Pal-Palooza was introduced in 2024 as a series of celebrations dedicated to individual Disney characters. Its first installment, Minnie’s Funderland, ran from January 10 through March 19, 2024.

Donald Duck replaced Minnie that April with Donald’s Quacky Duck City, giving the character his own parade, decorations, and merchandise. The event proved popular enough to return in spring 2025 with a new variation called Donald’s Quacky Duck! Duck! Duck City!

Another character joined the lineup in January 2025 when Tokyo Disneyland debuted Vanellope’s Sweet Pop World. Inspired by the candy-themed world of Wreck-It Ralph, the event returned for a second installment in April 2026.

Minnie’s Funderland also returned in early 2026, meaning that the final celebration next year will mark the third time Minnie Mouse has headlined Disney Pal-Palooza.

Despite the event series having featured seven installments in just over three years, Tokyo Disney Resort has not explained why it is ending. The company has also not confirmed whether another recurring celebration will take its place.

There are other changes planned for Tokyo Disneyland in 2027. On April 15, Disney will officially open Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue, a new interactive attraction inspired by Wreck-It Ralph, replacing Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters.

Ahead of the opening, Disney will introduce a smartphone minigame on January 12, followed by themed Tomorrowland decorations in February. Cinderella Castle will also feature projections inspired by the attraction beginning March 18.

Elsewhere, Tokyo Disneyland is preparing to welcome Space Mountain: Earthrise, a rebuilt (and improved) version of its Tomorrowland roller coaster, in 2027.
