Disney Limits Turkey Leg Consumption at Theme Park
We were shocked to find out that Disney is limiting how many iconic snacks guests can purchase at its theme parks.

There may not be a more quintessential theme park experience than Disney. Whether you’re visiting Walt Disney World in Florida or Disneyland in California, there’s no end sight to all of the magical memories guests can make. The Disney theme parks are successful for many reasons, most of which can be boiled down to their excellent service, incredible atmospheres, and breathtaking rides and attractions.
From Space Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean to “it’s a small world” and TRON Lightcycle / Run, there’s something for every guest to ride and enjoy.

For many guests, however, the highlight of a Disney vacation is the shows and snacks, with the Disney parks featuring some of the most iconic theme park food on Earth. One snack that needs no introduction is the DOLE Whip, which is a delicious blend of ice cream and pineapple. This sweet and creamy treat has become a staple of the Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Guests visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom can even get an alcoholic version of this treat at Tamu Tamu Refreshments.
However, this is far from where the list of iconic Disney theme park snacks ends. Another popular item at Disney is the iconic Mickey Bar, which is vanilla ice cream surrounded by a delicious rich chocolate shell. Guests may also choose to get a sweet and crunchy churro, which has become a staple of the Disneyland Resort.
However, one treat is not so sweet but will definitely fill you up.
Few items are as synonymous with Disney as the giant turkey leg. The turkey leg debuted sometime in the 1980s in Frontierland at the Magic Kingdom, quickly becoming a staple of the Disney parks. While a giant salty, meaty snack may not be our go-to option when visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, the turkey leg remains one of the most popular options at the Disney theme parks.

Unfortunately, Shanghai Disneyland limits turkey legs to two per person. This has been standard procedure since the outbreak of COVID-19 in early 2020, but we are just now learning about this limitation. The pandemic was particularly rough for the Shanghai Disney Resort, as it was forced to shut down multiple times.
While we can’t say we would ever need two turkey legs, for some, this may be quite a downer on an otherwise magical Disney vacation.
Other guests were just as shocked as we were that there is a limit on how many turkey legs guests can buy at the Resort.
Why is there a 2 per purchase limit on turkey legs?? Are people reselling turkey legs???? pic.twitter.com/AavY789UVx

The reason for limiting turkey legs may actually come down to price, as turkeys are not part of a normal diet in China.
The Shanghai Disney Resort is located in Pudong, Shanghai, China, and features some truly incredible attractions. Among the classic attractions, guests will also find a stunning version of Pirates of the Caribbean here, as well as the original rendition of TRON Lightcycle / Run.
What’s your favorite snack at Disney? Do you enjoy turkey legs?
