Discovering the Magic in Toy Story Land
One of the most well-themed lands in Walt Disney World is Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Here Guests are shrunk to the size of a toy as they hang out in Andy’s backyard.
There is something for everyone here to enjoy. Let’s look at everything to enjoy at Toy Story Land so you will get everything.
Rides Found in Toy Story Land
Let’s start with the rides available to Guests throughout Toy Story Land.
Alien Swirling Saucers
This is what we would consider a filler attraction for the land. Guests 32 inches or taller enjoy a spin with the green aliens from the classic Toy Story movie.
On board their space saucer, Guests spin around in various directions as the aliens control the fun entirely. Although this ride isn’t exhilarating, little ones will find it funny as they get swirled around. The lighting in this ride is fantastic at night and makes it even more exciting.
Toy Story Mania
Toy Story Mania is the original Toy Story attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This family-friendly game continues to bring families together on Disney vacations. This 4D game stars the beloved Toy Story characters as Guests compete against one another in a fun way.
Guests travel through a toy chest filled with fun, classic carnival-inspired games, using their spring-action shooter to gather points. There are five well-themed rooms that Guests complete in collecting points along the way to discover who is the best shooter in the land. Break plates with the green army men, pop balloons with Rex or toss rings to catch some aliens with Buzz. Each room is full of fun and challenges along the way.
Everyone can ride this ride, making it full of laughs for the whole family.
Slinky Dog Dash
The family-friend coaster Slinky Dog Dash is the most popular of the three rides in Toy Story Land. With a 38” height requirement, Slinky Dog Dash can be a coaster everyone enjoys together.
Join Slinky Dog as he twists and turns through Andy’s backyard full of giant toys. This is a wild ride as Slinky Dog uses his springy coils to take Guests on curves, up hills, and back down again.
The theming of this family-friendly coaster is impressive, and the overall coaster itself is fantastic. More intense than Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Magic Kingdom, Slinky Dog Dash will surprise you.
Dining in Toy Story Land
One area for improvement with Toy Story Land is the need for more food options for the number of people in the area.
Woody’s Lunch Box- Quick Service
The one quick-service location found in Toy Story Land is Woody’s Lunch Box. Andy has turned his lunch box into a dining location filled with delicious eats and treats.
Woody’s Lunch Box serves all three meals throughout the day,, giving Guests various options. Guests can enjoy the fun Lunch Box Tarts in the morning with a delicious pastry and good fruit filling.
For lunch and Dinner, see comfort food options. From delicious grilled cheese and tomato soup to the beloved potato barrels, Guests will find something fun to enjoy here.
Because Woody’s Lunch Box is the only quick service option in Toy Story Land, it does get jam-packed. Use mobile ordering on the My Disney Experience app to help avoid long wait times.
There are also limited tables here as well. Because of this, consider eating at off times to find a spot to rest easier.
Roundup Rodeo BBQ- Table Service
The newest addition to Toy Story Land is Roundup Rodeo BBQ. This family-style location is where Guests can dine in a Western-themed area as Andy’s Rodeo surrounds them at play.
See larger-than-life displays of favorite Toy Story characters, Bo Peep and Jessie, throughout the restaurant.
The family-style meal has platters filled with house-smoked items such as ribs, beef brisket, sausage, and chicken. There is a plant-based option as well for those wanting a different option. Choose from various sides for the table, such as potato barrels, slaw, fried pickles, and more.
The theming at Roundup Rodeo BBQ is above and beyond. We only wish that some of the Toy Story friends would be around to meet and greet with the Guests during their meal.
This is an extremely popular reservation, so make sure you book your advanced dining reservations as soon as possible if this is a must-do experience for your family.
Characters to Meet
Another significant aspect of Toy Story Land is meeting some of the characters. At the front of Toy Story Land, next to the larger-than-life Woody statue, Guests can meet Buzz, Jessie, and Woody throughout the day.
These are fun interactions, and you can use the My Disney Experience app to see when and where they will meet your vacation.
You can also look for the Green Army Men as they march through the land during the day. Make sure to follow orders, though.
Theming
Finally, when visiting Toy Story Land, slow down and look around. This land is stunning with all the details that were put in to bring it to life. Look up and down to see some hidden gems added to the ground. From Andy’s footprints to Christmas lights, there are magical details everywhere in Toy Story Land.
As you move around Toy Story Land, see how they used various toys and games to create the land. We love how we can see parts of our childhood scattered throughout.
The next time you are in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we hope you take the time to enjoy the magic of Toy Story Land.
