Something new is coming to Magic Kingdom, and guests planning a fall Disney World vacation may want to make room for it.
The Diamond Horseshoe is getting a temporary transformation that will bring a new way to eat and drink in Frontierland. Rather than operating as a traditional restaurant, the familiar location will become a limited-time pop-up lounge beginning October 4.
And guests who want to experience it won’t have to wait until opening day to secure their spot.
Reservations Are Opening Before the Debut
Reservations for The Diamond Horseshoe pop-up open September 29 at 8 p.m. ET through the Walt Disney World website and app.
That’s an important time to remember because new Disney World dining experiences can draw considerable attention when they first arrive.
Disney hasn’t said how difficult reservations will be to secure. Still, anyone visiting shortly after the October 4 opening may want to book early, especially if they only have one Magic Kingdom day during their vacation.
The limited nature of the experience adds another reason to plan ahead.
Disney hasn’t announced exactly when the pop-up will end. That means guests visiting over the next several months could have an opportunity to try it, but there isn’t currently a firm closing date to use when planning a future trip.
A Different Kind of Dining Experience
Guests also shouldn’t expect The Diamond Horseshoe to function like a traditional table-service restaurant.
The temporary lounge will focus on small plates and drinks, giving visitors somewhere to take a break rather than sitting down for a large meal.
The menu will include cocktails, wine and beer, along with non-alcoholic specialty drinks. Guests can pair those beverages with the selection of small plates.
That could make the lounge especially useful during a long Magic Kingdom day.
Instead of leaving Frontierland or committing significant time to a full meal, guests can stop inside, get away from the busy park for a while and enjoy a few bites before returning to the attractions.
The frontier-inspired setting should also fit naturally into this section of Magic Kingdom.
Magic Kingdom Continues Expanding Its Lounge Options
The Diamond Horseshoe won’t be Magic Kingdom’s only relatively new lounge experience.
The Beak and Barrel brought a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge to Adventureland, and reservations proved difficult to find when the location first opened. Even after more than a year of operation, some reservations can still be difficult to secure.
Whether The Diamond Horseshoe creates that same level of demand remains to be seen.
The two experiences are also quite different. The Beak and Barrel revolves heavily around Pirates of the Caribbean, while The Diamond Horseshoe pop-up will lean into its Frontierland setting.
Still, a new food and beverage experience inside Magic Kingdom will likely attract plenty of curious Disney fans.

And because Disney hasn’t announced when the temporary experience will disappear, guests interested in trying it may not want to assume it’ll still be around on their next vacation.
