Walt Disney World runs a lot of celebrations, and they do not all carry the same weight.
Some are basically a merchandise drop with a hashtag. Others get real programming, real talent, and real presence across multiple parks. You can usually tell which is which within five minutes of walking through a gate.
This one is the second kind.
Walt Disney World is celebrating Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month under the theme “Together We Are Magia,” running September 15 through October 15, 2026.
Luis Fonsi is the headline name, and the programming behind him is substantial enough to plan a park day around.

The Puerto Rican superstar is part of this year’s festivities, and his involvement sets the tone.
“It’s an honor to be part of this celebration and to share all the magia,” Fonsi said.
That word choice matters. “Magia” carries the theme itself, and it is the kind of bilingual wordplay that lands naturally instead of feeling focus-grouped. Disney celebrations sometimes trip on exactly that. This one does not.
Fonsi is one of the most commercially successful Latin artists of the past two decades, so attaching his name lifts the profile well beyond the park-going crowd.
The EPCOT Concerts
Eat to the Beat is carrying a heavy slate of Latin talent throughout:
Latin Ambition, September 15 through 17
Grupo Mania, September 20 and 21
Metro Latino Band, September 22 through 24
Rey Ruiz, October 5 and 6
Viva Latina, October 9 through 11
All included with park admission. No upcharge, no separate ticket, no dining package required.
That is worth emphasizing at a resort where premium experiences increasingly come with a price attached.

The Characters
Two parks, and a genuinely impressive roster.
At EPCOT, ¡Celebración Encanto! featuring Mirabel and Bruno.
At Magic Kingdom, the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade with Mirabel, Miguel from Coco, Princess Elena, José Carioca, and Panchito.
Look closer at that Magic Kingdom list, because the range is unusual.

José Carioca and Panchito go back to the 1940s and Disney’s Good Neighbor Policy films, Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros. Princess Elena arrived in 2016 as Disney’s first Latina princess. Mirabel and Miguel are the modern era.
Eight decades of Disney’s relationship with Latin American culture rolling down Main Street, U.S.A. together does not happen often, and for longtime fans it is the most interesting piece of the whole celebration.
New Coco Merchandise
A new Coco collection landed with the celebration:

A floral tee
An alebrije headband
Watch the headband. Alebrijes are the brightly colored folk art creatures central to Coco, and they translate unusually well into wearable merchandise because the source material is already so vivid.
Celebration-window items move fast. Earlier in the run is safer than later.

Movies Under the Stars
Disney is also featuring Hispanic and Latin American inspired content in Movies Under the Stars programming at the resort hotels.
Easy to overlook and genuinely useful.
It is free for resort guests, it happens after park days, and it requires zero planning. For families with kids who are done by seven, it keeps the celebration going without another park visit.
Planning Around It
A few notes on the September 15 to October 15 window.
The concerts are the schedule-dependent piece. Five acts across five date ranges means checking which performer matches your trip rather than assuming music every night.
Character offerings run throughout, so those are flexible.
Merchandise is most likely to sell out, especially the headband.
And the whole thing overlaps the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival, already running. That makes EPCOT the highest-value park right now, since festival booths, Eat to the Beat, and ¡Celebración Encanto! all come with the same admission.
For a celebration that could have easily been a T-shirt and a social post, this is a real slate, spread across enough of the resort that guests will actually stumble into it.
