Disney Deluxe Hotel Under Fire After Guests Report Shocking “Filthy” Conditions
Disney’s Beach Club Resort has long occupied a comfortable place within Walt Disney World’s Deluxe hotel lineup. For many guests, it represents familiarity rather than spectacle — a reliable option anchored by location, theming, and long-standing reputation rather than novelty.
That reputation matters. Disney’s on-site hotels are deliberately stratified, with Deluxe resorts positioned as the most expensive and comprehensive offerings. Guests booking at this level typically expect consistency, quiet comfort, and upkeep that matches the premium rates attached to these properties.

Across Walt Disney World Resort, Deluxe hotels are priced and marketed as part of the vacation itself. Proximity to parks, Extended Evening Theme Park Hours, signature dining, and exclusive amenities are presented as baseline value, not add-ons.
Nightly rates at resorts like Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge regularly exceed £600 during peak travel periods. At that price point, operational issues tend to attract closer attention.
Disney’s Beach Club Resort sits firmly within that group. Designed to evoke a late-19th-century New England seaside retreat, it shares Crescent Lake with Disney’s Yacht Club and offers direct walking access to EPCOT, a feature often cited as its strongest advantage.
The resort is also home to Stormalong Bay, a large sand-bottom pool complex that consistently ranks highly among Disney guests. For years, those elements have sustained Beach Club’s popularity, particularly with returning visitors.

Recently, however, guest commentary has prompted renewed discussion around whether the experience still aligns with Deluxe expectations.
A Guest’s Stay Prompts Online Discussion of Disney’s Beach Club
A Reddit post from a recent guest drew attention after detailing multiple issues encountered during their stay. “Just wondering if this is the norm or really bad luck,” the guest wrote, setting the tone for what followed.
According to the account, both an exterior door leading to a pathway and the room’s corridor-facing door had broken locks. The guest framed the issue as a safety concern rather than a minor inconvenience.
Cleanliness was also raised. The room was described as “filthy,” with the guest adding that “the floor had dirt and debris everywhere.” They also reported finding hair in the shower upon arrival.

Noise and location added to the frustration. The guest said a nearby walkway was “crazy loud” and noted that their room was “so far away from the lobby we may as well be in another hotel.”
“I’d heard such good things about beach club before staying here but I really don’t get it,” the post continued. “Is it just the pool that’s swaying people?”
In an update, the guest explained that Disney was notified of the concerns. “I let them know and they credited our account with $100 dollars,” they wrote. “No new room but at least they addressed the issues with the locks and vacuumed the floors.”
Other Guests Share Comparable Experiences
The post prompted responses from other guests who reported similar issues. One commenter said, “The room was dirty, the resort was way too busy, and all of the pretend rich guests were annoying and unbearable.”
Another questioned the Deluxe classification itself. “I agree that the experience is not deluxe,” they wrote, citing thin walls and noise from neighbouring rooms as persistent problems.

That guest acknowledged the benefit of EPCOT proximity but was unconvinced by the resort’s most famous feature. “People love the pool but honestly to me it’s just a very large pool,” they said, adding they would not return.
Longtime visitors also weighed in. “It isn’t what it used to be,” one commenter wrote. Another added, “It feels very run down everywhere. Bits chipping off the walls in the corridors and stuff too.”
One guest described a brief stay in a standard Deluxe room before moving to the villas. They cited dirty floors, visible bugs, and mold on windows, noting that exhaustion ended the night more than comfort.
Have you ever had a bad experience at a Disney Deluxe hotel?

Yes indeed…Mickey Mouse has become a cow!
We had a room in the Beach that had a small balcony. We were really happy because that was a first after many visits. But when we went out onto the balcony it was clear that it was uninhabitable by humans. Hundreds of spiders live there, with their webs and all. Notified front desk and eventually hours later someone came up to deal with the issue. What did they do? The did not vacuum up the spiders and clean up the webs. No the smashed every spider on the walls, floor and celling and let it that way. Outcome, ugly filthy uninhabitable balcony.
Yes, I have had similar experiences at several of the resorts: CB – water level marks on baseboards, non-working fridge, AKL – J – pieces of glass on the carpet, SS – wet carpet, food still in the fridge, hair in the shower, black mold on the shower stuff, webs & dirt on patio doors, water on floor from leaking fridge and the worse; blood on the sheets!
