Disney’s Hollywood Studios gets many mixed reviews from Disney fans. Some love the changes made to the park in recent years, such as the addition of Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Meanwhile, old-school Disney fans lament the loss of the “Old Hollywood” theme that held the park together and the removal of The Great Movie Ride.
But among those, there are many other controversies. One is whether or not it’s time for Aerosmith to be removed from the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and whether older attractions with older properties, such as Indiana Jones and the Muppets, have lost their appeal.
Muppet Vision 3D
One of the most glaring examples of this is Muppet Vision 3D. As one of the older attractions in the theme park, it has been accused of being neglected in recent years. This has caused some even to speculate whether or not the Muppet theater that houses the 3D show was next on the chopping block of Disney’s Hollywood Studios attractions.
In fact, in the past year, there had been various reports about how worn and dirty the theater had become – specifically the seats.
Muppet Vision 3D opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in May 1991 (when the park had a different name). The attraction comes from a collaboration between Jim Henson Productions and Walt Disney Imagineering. Although there were plans for an entire Muppet-themed land, the farthest things got were the single show.

The attraction is a classic theme park 3D show. Guests enter, don special glasses, and enjoy an “eye-popping” production.
The show, like any in the genre, is chock full of cheesy 3D tricks and stars Kermit, Gonzo, Fozzie, Miss Piggy, and the rest of the lovable cast of characters.
This week, Walt Disney World has unveiled the theater’s newly upgraded seats throughout the theater.

Attraction Updates
The photos of the new seats, compared with images of the old seats, serve as a testament to how badly the Muppet Theater needed this upgrade.

The recent refurb has caused quite a stir on social media (at least among Disney park fans). It also squashes many rumors and theories that Disney’s Hollywood Studios may be doing away with the attraction.

Although Kermit and Miss Piggy are starring in a special show at Jollywood Nights this holiday season at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, that doesn’t necessarily mean their attraction would be safe.
The Muppets hold a special place in the hearts of many, especially those who grew up in the 80s and 90s. Although their popularity has waned over the years, there is always an appetite for zany puppets, whether on Sesame Street, Grand Avenue at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney+.
