10 Tips for Surviving Walt Disney World with Small Children

9. Don’t be rigid in planning.

Planning is an absolute must when your traveling party includes small children. But over-planning or being too rigid in planning can result in disappointment on your part and overstimulation on the part of your children. Play it safe by having an itinerary for each day you’ll be in the parks, but don’t fill your itinerary with so many attractions, meet-and-greets, shows and rides that you can’t possibly do them all. The simplest days often lead to the best experiences. Instead of trying to cram everything you can into one day, be intent on enjoying every single experience and making the most of it, even if you only enjoy three attractions in one day, for example. Your kids will thank you for it, and you’ll be saving yourself a lot of stress and Mommy (or Daddy) guilt.
