Tree of life at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park

9. Explore the Trails

Animal Kingdom is home to three trails for you to explore:

  • Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail (Africa) — Formerly known as the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail, this walking trail features exhibits for a variety of native African wildlife, including meerkats, the Angolan Colobus Monkey, the Grévy's zebra, and of course, a pack of western lowland gorillas.

  • Maharajah Jungle Trek (Asia) — Whereas the Gorilla Falls trail features African flora and fauna, the Maharajah Jungle Trek is home to creatures you'd find in Southeast Asia, such as a Komodo dragon, Malayan flying foxes, over 50 species of birds, Asian tigers, and more. Don't miss this awesome opportunity to meet some exotic wildlife!

  • Discovery Island Trails (Discovery Island) — In addition to offering encounters with creatures like Galapagos tortoises, red kangaroos, Asian otters, West African cranes, and more, the Discovery Island Trails offer one of the best close-up views of the Tree of Life and all the details carved into its trunk.
