10 Fun Facts About Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

Boat

6. Venturing to the Magic Kingdom

The Polynesian is one of three resorts located along the monorail line. That means rather than boarding a shuttle bus bound for the Magic Kingdom like they do at other resorts, guests staying at the Polynesian get to the park via monorail. The monorail, which picks up outside the second level of the Great Ceremonial House, follows a loop around the Grand Floridian, Magic Kingdom, the Contemporary, the Ticket and Transportation Center, and then back again to the Polynesian. But the monorail isn’t the only way to get to the Magic Kingdom. There are also boats launching continually across the Seven Seas Lagoon throughout the day, starting 30 minutes prior to the park’s opening and remaining in operation until well after closing. The Gold Flag Launch travels a route from the Magic Kingdom to the Grand Floridian and Polynesian. There is also a boat that takes you from the Ticket and Transport Center (which is in walking distance from the Polynesian) to the Magic Kingdom.
