Two New Nighttime Shows

First, if you are a fan of nighttime shows, then you will love what is coming in 2023 to the Disneyland Parks.  Both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are getting NEW nighttime shows.

“Wonderous Journeys” will be lighting up the night sky and the castle in Disneyland Park.  This show is going to feature a nod to all 60 Walt Disney Animation Studios films to date.  Guests will be taken on a journey filled with a brand new song “It’s Wondrous” along with storytelling, artistry, and of course magic and pixie dust.

Over at Disney California Adventure, Guests will be able to enjoy a new “World of Color- One”.  This show will focus on the first 100 years of Disney using both Disney classics as well as new favorites.

We know that Disney does an amazing job at nighttime shows and we are thrilled to see what these two new shows bring to these amazing Parks.

Afternoon Parade Returns

Back in 2020, a few Guests were able to experience the new afternoon parade in Disneyland.  This outstanding parade, Magic Happens, with all of the amazing floats, costumes, and music will be back in 2023.

This spring, Magic Happens will once again fill Disneyland as it travels around the Park dazzling Guests with beloved characters and amazing music by Todrick Hall.

Disney favorites such as Anna, Elsa, and Olaf along with Mickey Mouse and his friends all bring magic to the Park during this parade.  Other favorite friends including Moana, Miguel (and Dante) join as they tell their amazing stories.

New Characters

We are thrilled that a variety of new characters will be arriving at Disneyland to visit Guests.  Fans at the D23 Expo were thrilled to be the first to see the Mandalorian and Grogu who will be visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland Park.

As the Star Wars stories continue to unfold, new characters from a galaxy far, far away have been coming to the Disneyland Resort.  Most recently we have seen Boba Fett and Fennec Shand.

This November The Mandalorian and Grogu will be visiting Batuu and we can’t wait to say hello.

Another new character will be coming to Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure Park.  We have already seen a total of around 25 characters throughout Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure since it opened last year.

Beginning next week, for a limited time, Guests will be able to visit with The Incredible Hulk.  He will be wearing his Quantum Suit and promised he would try not to destroy anything.

We love how many characters visit with Guests at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.  It is exciting to have these two join them.

Mickey’s Toontown Will Open Early 2023

Work on the transformation of Mickey’s Toontown in Disneyland Park is already underway.  This reimagined land will be opening with all-new experiences, play areas, and fun for the little ones.

The focus of the land will be the already major hit Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.  This ride will be a reflection of the already popular ride in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Also coming to Mickey’s Toontown will be El CapiTOON Theater.  This special exhibit will feature costumes and props from the toon world.  Exhibits will feature classics such as Steamboat Willie, Plane Crazy, and even Mickey’s Christmas Carol.

Goofy’s How-To-Play Yard will also be a new, grassy play area for families to enjoy in Mickey’s Toontown.  This enclosed, play area will be a great place for little ones to enjoy the fun of the play area including a playhouse.

There will be so much to explore in this area that the little ones will find something new around every corner.

These exciting new experiences will join favorites such as Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin, Mickey’s House, and Minnie’s House as well as the reimagined Gadget’s Go Coaster.

Mickey’s Toontown will once again be a must-do land in 2023 when it reopens to Guests.

Avengers Campus is scheduled to have a new ride opening as well.  The Multiverse will be coming to Avengers Campus with a new ride featuring King Thanos a villain designed just for Avengers Campus.

Pacific Wharf over in Disney California Adventure will be reimagined into SanFransokyo from Big Hero 6.  This is where East meets West and technology will meet tradition.  This is in the early stages, but we are thrilled to see this transformation happen.
