11. The Great Movie Ride
Disney’s Great Movie Ride receives an honorable mention on this list. Until the ride closed in 2017, it remained one of the most iconic rides and, for a period of time, it was the symbol of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Sponsored by Turner Classic Movies, the Great Movie Ride was a ridable tribute to the magic of Hollywood. On the attraction, guests could ride through various iconic movie scenes. The tram would glide through an old western town, the seedy underbelly of New York City, aboard the Nostomo from Alien, and down the yellow brick road to the Emerald City. Iconic movie characters such as Tarzan, Indiana Jones, and Big Jake are brought to life through the magic of Disney animatronics. Though the attraction was finally retired, it still has it’s fan following, remaining a ride to remember.
