The Best Times to Visit Disney World on a Budget

Castle Money

So you’re wanting to go to Disney World… but you also don’t want to break the bank. The good news is that there are lots of ways to save money year round at Disney World, and staying on a budget is completely reasonable. There are several times each year that tend to be great bargain times, and we’re here to give you the inside info! Disney’s room rates actually fluctuate throughout the year. It’s simple supply and demand.... when the demand is higher (middle of the summer, spring break, and major holidays) so is the price. If you can be flexible on your dates and aren’t locked into the school year calendar, you can save hundreds of dollars by picking the right weeks to visit.

6. Free dining promotions

One of the easiest ways to save a little cash is by watching for Disney’s free dining promotions. It’s not a promised deal, but it historically happens during the fall sometime. Disney offers free basic dining plans with certain room and ticket packages during this promotional period. This can be a great deal if your travel party is large, likes to indulge in sit-down dining, or wants to do a lot of character meals. You may end up paying full price for your tickets or room, but getting all your meals free could lower your overall budget. It’s worth it to take the time to do a little math to figure out if this would save your family some money.

5. Late summer

Disney tends to run incredible specials during the weeks around Labor Day. Everyone is gearing up for back to school, and crowds drop off, so it makes sense that Disney would offer low rates as an incentive to get more people on property. Maybe your kiddos are homeschooled, attend year-round school, or have a late start back. This can work in your wallet’s favor! It will definitely still feel like summer (hot and humid!) so you can take advantage of the emptier pools and water parks, too.
