9 Reasons Why You’ll Love Disney’s All-Stars Resorts

Deciding where to stay in the Walt Disney World Resort is essential to any Disney vacation. The 22 Disney hotels are categorized into Value, Moderate, and Deluxe Resorts.
Disney’s All-Stars Resort fits into the Disney Value Resort category. Three Disney hotels make up the resort – Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, and Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort. Whichever you choose to stay at during your Disney vacation, you’re guaranteed a magical Disney experience.
So why should you stay at Disney’s All-Stars Resort? Here are nine reasons why we love it and why you will too!
9. runDisney Route
If you can’t treat yourself in Disney, when can you? A Disney vacation undoubtedly includes plenty of delicious food. However, you may be left feeling guilty for indulging. There are many runDisney routes around the Walt Disney World Resort, including at Disney’s All-Star Resorts. While the running route is a 1-mile stretch alongside the main road that connects the Disney Resort hotels, a 5k is possible. After running the 1-mile stretch, running through all areas of Disney’s All-Stars Resort is fun. The themed areas make your run easier. We recommend running in the early morning or late evening when you’ll have the paths to yourself.

8. Larger-than-life Disney Characters
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is filled with plenty of giant Disney characters. There are plenty of excellent photo opportunities in the Disney hotel, whether you are staying there or just visiting. Taking time to see the larger-than-life sports apparatus at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort and the enormous musical instruments at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort is also fun. Why not pick up a scavenger hunt from one of the stores at the Disney Resort hotel while you’re exploring?

7. Six Pool Areas
You can access six pool areas as a Guest of Disney’s All-Stars Resort. There are two pool areas at each of the Disney hotels. At Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, you’ll find the Fantasia Pool and the Duck Pond Pool. Surfboard Bay Pool and the Grand Slam Pool are located at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort. Over at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, you can use the Calypso Pool and Piano Pool. While your walk may be longer to access some pool areas, it’s a fun way to see the Disney Resort.

6. Great Quick-Service Locations
Each of Disney’s All-Star Resorts has its own quick-service restaurant. The World Premiere Food Court is located at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. End Zone Food Court is the quick-service location at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, and Intermission Food Court is at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort. Each Disney hotel also has its own pool bar. Generally, the same menus feature in each of the restaurants and bars. However, you may still decide to try each one during your Disney vacation.

5. Three Bus Stations
Each of Disney’s All-Star Resort hotels has its own bus station. The Disney buses travel to each Disney Park and Disney Springs from there. Occasionally, during the day, buses may visit all of the All-Stars Resorts, making it easy to transfer between the Disney hotels if you are exploring. While Disney’s All-Star Resort buses can have long lines at the end of the day at a Disney theme park, you may be able to shorten your wait time. From our experience, we have found it beneficial to use the All-Star Sports bus when the line for All-Star Music was much longer. Catching a bus to another All-Star Resort may require a short walk to your guest room when you arrive, but that may be more beneficial than waiting a considerable amount of time at a bus station after a long day in a Disney Park.

4. Close to Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Disney’s All-Stars Resorts are located in the Disney’s Animal Kingdom area of Lake Buena Vista. Therefore, you’re less than 10 minutes from the Disney Park. You can also expect a relatively short bus ride from the Disney hotel to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. While you may think the journey to Magic Kingdom is long, we timed it to be around 15 minutes from Disney’s All-Star Resorts. Disney Springs is the longest bus ride from the Disney hotel.

3. Family Suites are Available
Disney’s All-Star Music Resort has family suites in addition to regular guest rooms. Family suites are beneficial to larger families or travel parties. Each suite can sleep up to six adults and offers a living area, kitchen, and two bathrooms. Staying in a family suite at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort can be more affordable than staying in a suite at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.
2. Preferred Rooms without the Cost
You can choose a standard or preferred guest room when staying at Disney’s All-Stars Resort hotel. Preferred rooms are closer to the main features of the Disney hotel, such as the lobby, restaurant, pool area, and store. As such, they come with an additional cost. Meanwhile, standard guest rooms are located further away, which is cheaper.
However, some standard guest rooms offer preferred features without the extra cost. In particular, guest rooms in the Mighty Ducks area of Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort are ideally located for the main areas of Disney’s All-Star Music Resort. When staying in the Mighty Ducks section, we generally used Disney’s All-Star Music Resort’s bus station and food court in Melody Hall rather than those at Cinema Hall at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.

1. It’s Affordable
Generally, Disney’s All-Stars Resorts are the cheapest Disney hotels in Lake Buena Vista, followed by Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. Staying there is an excellent way to meet a smaller budget. The Disney hotels are also the perfect place to stay when you plan on spending most of your Disney vacation in the Disney Parks. While Disney’s All-Stars Resort is a Disney Value Resort, you can expect a comfortable and practical stay.
