One cannot hear the name Charles Dickens without their minds immediately going to arguably his most famous work, A Christmas Carol. The tale of Ebenezer Scrooge and his ghostly guides has been told for decades, but for many viewers, the first version of the Christmas classic they were introduced to was Mickey’s Christmas Carol. Mickey’s version, while short and, in lack of a better word, Disney-fied, is perhaps one of the most well known versions around. It has been released and re-released on video and DVD, and it airs on TV nearly every December. Naturally, it goes without saying that most Disney fans have seen this version multiple times. But as with many Disney animated features, Mickey’s Christmas Carol is full of surprises, Easter eggs, and many winks and nods to the audience that all fans can enjoy. Some of these are comically obvious, but many are cleverly subtle. Break out the plum pudding and punch as we take a look at what you might have missed in Mickey’s Christmas Carol.
