
3. Disney Gets Scrooged
Mickey wasn’t the only character to get a new voice. In fact, the special was the first time Alan Young gave his voice to Scrooge McDuck, who until then was only seen in the Disney comic books. Young would later continue to voice Uncle Scrooge in nearly all his appearances, including the very popular Ducktales series, which cemented him in the role. Like Allwine, Young held the role of Scrooge until his recent passing in 2016. Young not only played the starring role of the special, but also helped develop this adaptation of the Dickens classic, earning him a spot in the story credits in the opening sequence. Turns out Alan Young knows how to do more than ruffle a few feathers.
