1. What is Epcot?
Epcot stands for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, and it opened in 1982, eleven years after Magic Kingdom.
2. Walt Disney's plans
Walt Disney planned for Epcot to be an actual livable city that focused on the innovation of urban living. Ideally, it would constantly be changing and improving for the people living there. Unfortunately, he passed away in 1966, and with him, the plans for the city. However, the Imagineers took the idea of a place that focuses on innovation and learning and made it into a new park.
