An Overview of Walt Disney World’s Resort Hotels

Art of Animation Resort

17. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

The theme of this resort is—you guessed it—animation! And it also celebrates colors—a wide array of colors, because of course, you need a palate of colors to draw, create and animate like Walt did so many years ago! You can hang out with Ariel, Sebastian and King Triton from Disney’s The Little Mermaid at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. Do you hear the call of the jungle? Simba and company from Disney’s The Lion King are also here. And PIXAR represents well at this resort too! Dory, Nemo, Crush and friends from Disney/PIXAR’s Finding Nemo, as well as Lightning McQueen and his crew from Disney/PIXAR’s Cars are here too! You can even take pictures with Lightning McQueen, Mater, Doc and more! Cozy up to the Cozy Cone Pool or catch some rays at the Flippin’ Fins Pool. The Art of Animation Resort also has the largest swimming pool on Disney property—the Big Blue—which is also the only one with underwater speakers that allow you to hear Dory and Nemo! Take a break with snacks and something cool to drink from the Drop Off poolside bar. And if you’re too hungry for just snacks, you’re in luck! The Landscape of Flavors food court opens early and closes late and features 5 food shops—including a made-to-order pizza and pasta station. Yum! You can also rent surrey bikes for 30 minutes or an hour at a time when you head out past the resort toward Hourglass Lake.
