8. Create a Budget
Before doing anything else, you have to know what kind of budget you’re working with. That said, your budget doesn’t have to be one of those intense budgets with every penny accounted for. Instead, focus on how much you have total, how long you’d like to stay, how much you’d like to spend on transportation, tickets, and lodging, and how much that leaves you for food and souvenirs. These basic numbers will be more than enough to plan a trip.
