2. Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room
While a couple of previously mentioned Adventureland attractions benefitted from updates, another attraction returned to its original form after an update literally went up in flames. Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, a tropical-themed musical celebration starring animatronic birds, plants, totem poles, and masks, received an update in 1998 that included two popular characters from Disney films, Iago from 1992’s Aladdin and Zazu from 1994’s The Lion King. However, in 2011 after a small fire reportedly damaged the Iago character, Disney re-opened the attraction later that year, restored to the original version albeit with some minor changes. Many Disney purists rejoiced, and the restored Enchanted Tiki Room can be enjoyed in Adventureland to this day.
