ABC Drops Disney Holiday Special Date Before Halloween Even Ends

Okay, we know Halloween isn’t technically over yet. We still have a few days of spooky season left, and honestly, we’re not totally ready to let it go. But the second the clock hits midnight on November 1, it’s holiday time. And ABC just gave Disney fans the first big date to look forward to. The Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular is coming back on Monday, November 30, 2026, from 8:00 to 10:00 PM ET/PT on ABC. So go ahead and block off that night, because this is basically the official start of Disney holiday season on TV.

It’s the Monday After Thanksgiving

Here’s the best part about this date. It’s the Monday right after Thanksgiving. So you get the turkey, the leftovers, the long weekend, and then you can curl up on the couch with some cocoa and watch Disney holiday magic. That’s a pretty perfect way to roll into December. Fun little detail: last year’s special aired on Monday, December 1, so this year it’s actually one day earlier. We’ll take it.

What’s Going to Be in It?

ABC says this year’s special will have new musical performances from Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California. Now, here’s the part everyone wants to know. Who’s hosting? Who’s performing? Yeah, ABC isn’t telling us yet. The host and lineup haven’t been announced, so we’re all just going to have to wait. Keep an eye out, because that announcement is usually a big deal. And here’s a little insider tip. Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is running during the daytime at Magic Kingdom on November 10 and 11 for ABC holiday special filming. So if you’re at Magic Kingdom those days, you might catch some of the action, and maybe even end up in the background on TV.

Last Year Was Stacked

Just to get you excited, let’s talk about last year. The 2025 Holiday Spectacular was hosted by Derek Hough, with narration from Ginnifer Goodwin. Performances were filmed at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and Aulani. And the lineup? Wild. Aloe Blacc, Good Charlotte, Coco Jones, Mariah the Scientist, Bebe Rexha, Nicole Scherzinger, Gwen Stefani, Iam Tongi, and Trisha Yearwood all performed. That’s a lot of big names in one night. That’s exactly why fans keep refreshing ABC’s schedule every fall. And one thing we noticed is that this year’s listing only mentions Walt Disney World and Disneyland, not Aulani. So we’ll see if Hawaii makes the cut again.

Don’t Forget Christmas Morning

ABC also locked in the date for the Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade. It’s airing Friday, December 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM Eastern and 9:00 AM Central. If you’re in another time zone, check your local listings. ABC says the parade is coming back with star-studded performances from Walt Disney World and Disneyland. And let’s be honest, watching the Disney Christmas parade while opening gifts in your pajamas is a whole tradition for a lot of families.

Two Dates to Save

So here’s your Disney holiday TV game plan. First, the Holiday Spectacular on Monday, November 30, from 8:00 to 10:00 PM ET/PT. Then, the Christmas Day Parade on Friday, December 25, starting at 10:00 AM Eastern. Put them in your phone right now. Tell your group chat. Make it a whole thing.

Why We Love These Specials

Not everyone can get to Disney World or Disneyland during the holidays. These specials bring all the decorations, parades, and performances right to your living room. And if you’ve been to the parks before, there’s nothing quite like seeing Main Street, U.S.A. or the castle all decked out on TV and thinking, I’ve been there.

Holiday Mode, Almost Activated

We’re still squeezing in the last bit of Halloween, but we can’t lie, this announcement has us ready for twinkle lights and hot cocoa. November 30 can’t come fast enough. So who’s watching with us?
