Universal Orlando Officially Opens Reservations for Popular Christmas Experience
Christmas at Universal Orlando Resort is about to get a whole lot greener.
While the resort is preparing to welcome back its annual holiday celebrations, guests already have an opportunity to book one of the season’s most popular experiences.
And considering how difficult it can sometimes be to meet the Grinch during the holidays, this announcement could be particularly exciting for families planning a visit.

Universal Orlando has opened reservations for a special Christmas dining experience that offers an alternative to waiting in one of the resort’s longest seasonal character lines.
However, guests hoping to participate will need to plan ahead.
Universal Orlando Is Bringing Back the Grinch Breakfast
The Grinch & Friends Character Breakfast is returning for the 2026 holiday season, and Universal Orlando has officially opened reservations.
The separately purchased experience allows guests to enjoy breakfast while meeting the Grinch and other familiar characters from Who-ville.
It’s a different way to experience one of Universal’s most popular holiday characters without relying entirely on the traditional meet-and-greet at Islands of Adventure.

For years, the Grinch has entertained visitors with his sarcastic personality, hilarious reactions, and sometimes unexpected responses to guests.
His interactions have become particularly popular on social media, where videos regularly show him teasing visitors and making jokes during character encounters.
Unfortunately, his growing popularity has also contributed to some extremely long waits.
During previous Christmas seasons, guests have reported spending three hours or longer waiting to meet the Grinch.
Some reported waits have even exceeded 200 minutes.
That’s a considerable amount of time for anyone visiting a theme park, especially families trying to experience multiple attractions in a single day.
The Grinch Breakfast provides another option for visitors who want to interact with the character without committing several hours to the regular line.
However, reservations are limited, and the experience requires an additional purchase.
The Grinch Will Still Meet Guests at Islands of Adventure
Guests who don’t want to purchase breakfast can still enjoy the Grinch during Universal’s annual Grinchmas celebration.
The seasonal event returns to Seuss Landing, where colorful Christmas decorations transform the area into a festive version of Who-ville.
Visitors can also watch the Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular, a live performance featuring the Grinch and other characters from the classic Christmas story.

The production includes music, elaborate costumes, and plenty of holiday entertainment.
And while the show offers a chance to see the Grinch without waiting in the traditional character line, guests who want a personal interaction will need to consider the regular meet-and-greet or another separately purchased experience.
Universal Orlando’s Holiday Tour is another option, offering an exclusive encounter with the Grinch and Max, along with additional seasonal entertainment.
The tour costs extra and requires qualifying theme park admission.
Universal Orlando Has Plenty More Planned for Christmas
Beyond Grinchmas, Universal Orlando is preparing to bring back several other holiday traditions.
At Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s will return with enormous balloons, festive floats, and characters from popular animated franchises.
The parade also features Santa Claus, who helps bring the celebration to a memorable conclusion.
Over at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley will feature Christmas decorations throughout their streets and storefronts.

Guests visiting Islands of Adventure can also enjoy The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle, a nighttime projection show that transforms the castle with festive imagery and music.
Meanwhile, Epic Universe is expanding its Christmas offerings.
SUPER NINTENDO WORLD and How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk will receive holiday decorations, giving guests more festive experiences to explore.
Isle of Berk will celebrate Snoggletog, while Celestial Park will feature seasonal displays and illuminated decorations.
These additions give Universal Orlando visitors even more reasons to explore all three of the resort’s main theme parks during the Christmas season.
Christmas Planning Is Already Underway
Universal Orlando’s holiday celebrations officially begin November 14, 2026, and continue through January 3, 2027.
Although the festivities haven’t started yet, guests can already begin securing reservations for The Grinch & Friends Character Breakfast.
For families who want to meet the Grinch, booking a breakfast experience could be an appealing alternative to waiting three hours or longer in the traditional meet-and-greet line.
Of course, visitors who prefer not to spend extra money can still enjoy Grinchmas entertainment and other Christmas offerings with regular admission to the appropriate park.
With the holidays approaching and reservations now available, guests interested in breakfast should check Universal Orlando’s official booking system for current prices, dates, and availability.
After all, Christmas at Universal Orlando comes with plenty of exciting experiences, but spending several hours standing in line probably isn’t at the top of anyone’s wish list.
