Amazon MGM’s James Bond Reboot Will Have at Least Three New Actors Playing 007

James Bond could soon have a surprisingly crowded roster of actors, with three different performers already attached to the character across film, gaming, and audio storytelling.

While Amazon MGM Studios has yet to identify its next cinematic 007, Patrick Gibson and Isaac Rouse have taken on their own versions of the legendary spy.

Gibson, best known for Dexter: Original Sin, portrays Bond in IO Interactive’s 007 First Light, which launched earlier this year. Rouse, meanwhile, voices a teenage version of the secret agent in Big Finish Productions’ audio adaptation of Charlie Higson’s Young Bond: SilverFin (2005).

These portrayals exist separately from the upcoming film, which is now in production. Denis Villeneuve, the filmmaker behind Dune, is directing, with Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight writing the screenplay. Amy Pascal and David Heyman are producing.

Craig’s departure after five films means the production will introduce another actor to the role, although the studio has not yet revealed who that will be. Pascal previously suggested that an announcement could arrive before the end of the year, keeping speculation about the next 007 alive.

The franchise’s expanding presence outside cinemas also raises the possibility of further interpretations. Rumors have circulated about a potential James Bond stage show at Universal’s planned UK resort, which could require another performer to portray the spy for live audiences.

There’s also speculation that the next movie could follow Bond across different stages of his life, potentially opening the door for multiple actors within a single film. Neither possibility has been confirmed, but both would add another dimension to the character’s next chapter.

For now, Gibson and Rouse offer two confirmed takes on Bond beyond the upcoming film, while fans wait to discover who will inherit the tuxedo on the big screen.
