If your ideal Disney World morning involves powdered sugar and a cup of coffee among the balconies of Port Orleans – French Quarter, you will need a new plan for a while.
As of October 6, 2026, Scat Cat’s Club – Café and Scat Cat’s Club – Lounge are both closed for refurbishment. Disney gave about a month’s warning, and both will stay closed through the holiday season and into the new year.

Why This One Stings
French Quarter is a small resort. It sits next to Port Orleans – Riverside as part of the larger Port Orleans complex. Its tight layout, wrought-iron details, and year-round Mardi Gras spirit recreate the historic heart of New Orleans. That cozy scale is part of its charm. It is also a big reason the resort is a Moderate favorite for guests who want rich theming at a lower price than the Deluxe Resorts.
The small size also means there are not many places to eat. The Café is the resort’s main quick-service spot, serving the famous Mickey-shaped beignets along with coffee, pastries, and breakfast staples. The Lounge right beside it offers cocktails, drinks, and light bites, and many guests end their evenings there after a long park day. With both gone at once, the whole resort feels different.
When They Are Expected Back
Here is Disney’s current outlook:
- Scat Cat’s Club – Café: projected to reopen in December 2026
- Scat Cat’s Club – Lounge: projected to reopen in January 2027
Refurbishment timelines can and do change, so treat these as estimates rather than promises.

Where to Go in the Meantime
The good news first: the beignets have not disappeared. They have moved, along with coffee, to Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory, the resort’s other quick-service restaurant. Through November 1, Sassagoula is also serving the seasonal Ghoulish Delight beignets, so you still have a chance to grab a festive treat before they leave the menu.
For evenings, Disney has set up a temporary bar near the Café. It is open from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., so guests still have somewhere to get a drink and keep a bit of the Lounge experience going.
Neither stand-in fully replaces Scat Cat’s Club, but together they cover the basics.
Tips for Your Stay
Sassagoula Floatworks is now handling the resort’s entire coffee-and-beignet crowd, so mornings there may be busier than you are used to. If you have an early park reservation or a tight schedule, leave yourself a little extra time. Before you travel, check Disney’s most recent refurbishment information, since the reopening dates could change before you arrive.

The Bigger Picture
This is far from the only construction wall at Walt Disney World this fall. Attraction refurbishments and a run of resort projects have had guests planning around closures across the property, and the Scat Cat’s Club work is the latest part of a wider resort refurbishment effort. The upside is that this closure is temporary, and both locations should be serving guests again early in the new year.
