EPCOT’s holiday season is going to run on a slightly different schedule this year, and guests who already have their evenings mapped out may want to make a few adjustments.
Two of the park’s biggest nighttime offerings are moving earlier during the 2026 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. Candlelight Processional will have three new performance times, while Luminous The Symphony of Us will also begin earlier than it has during previous festival seasons.
The changes come as EPCOT prepares to close earlier throughout the festival, shortening the amount of time guests have to fit everything into their holiday evenings.
EPCOT Cuts 30 Minutes From Its Holiday Schedule
The 2026 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays runs from November 27 through December 30.
During that period, EPCOT is currently scheduled to close at 9:00 p.m. In previous years, the park remained open until 9:30 p.m. during the festival.
A 30-minute difference may seem minor during a vacation that can include 10 or more hours inside a theme park. However, those final 30 minutes can become valuable during Festival of the Holidays.
World Showcase becomes particularly busy in the evening as guests visit Holiday Kitchens, explore the different pavilions, watch seasonal entertainment, and prepare for Candlelight Processional and Luminous.
With EPCOT now closing at 9:00 p.m., Disney is shifting its entertainment schedule to match.
Candlelight Processional Moves Earlier
Candlelight Processional will continue to offer three performances each evening, but every show will start 15 minutes earlier.
Previously, performances began at 5:00 p.m., 6:45 p.m., and 8:15 p.m.
The 2026 schedule moves those performances to 4:45 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 8:00 p.m.
That is an important detail for guests who have already experienced Festival of the Holidays and might be planning their upcoming trip based on the schedule they remember.
It could also affect dining plans.
Guests who want to combine Candlelight Processional with a table-service dinner will have slightly less time to work with, particularly when attending the final performance.
The 8:00 p.m. show should finish around EPCOT’s 9:00 p.m. closing time. From there, guests will have another major nighttime experience coming almost immediately.
Luminous Will Now Begin at 9:15 P.M.
Luminous The Symphony of Us is also moving 15 minutes earlier.
Instead of its previous 9:30 p.m. Festival of the Holidays start time, the nighttime spectacular is scheduled for 9:15 p.m. in 2026.
That means Luminous will actually begin 15 minutes after EPCOT’s posted closing time.
Guests attending the final Candlelight Processional could therefore move almost directly from the America Gardens Theatre into their plans for watching Luminous.
That may be convenient for guests who want to experience both shows. However, it also leaves little time to travel to a preferred viewing location elsewhere around World Showcase Lagoon.
Anyone wanting more flexibility may find that the 4:45 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. Candlelight Processional works better.
Those earlier performances leave additional time for attractions, food, shopping, and exploring World Showcase before Luminous begins.
Holiday Guests Will Want to Watch the Clock
Nothing is disappearing from EPCOT’s nighttime holiday lineup because of these changes. Instead, Disney is compressing the schedule.
Candlelight Processional will still have three performances, and Luminous will still provide the finale to an evening at EPCOT.
Guests simply have less time to fit everything together.
For anyone visiting between November 27 and December 30, checking the current entertainment schedule could be especially important this year. Returning visitors should also avoid assuming the times they remember from previous Festival of the Holidays trips will remain the same.
Fifteen minutes might not completely change a Disney vacation, but when dinner, Candlelight Processional, festival food, attractions, and fireworks are all competing for the same few hours, every minute starts to matter.
And in 2026, EPCOT’s holiday nights will end a little earlier than guests have grown accustomed to.
